Towering over elf and human alike, Baalyr is a fine specimen of Orc with broad shoulders, strong arms, and powerful legs that make him an unignorable figure in any setting. He is actually somewhat leaner than many of his kind, though he has long turned that into an advantage by combining strength with a surprising amount of agility. His long black hair is pulled into braids decorated by leather thongs, beads, and bones with some falling in a wave across his back and the longest pair on either side of his head pulled forward to drape over his chest.


He dresses in a mix of comfort and practicality, a sleeveless hooded coat made of animal skins and fur covering an assortment of plate and chain armor covering his hands and forearms and his feet, legs, and waist. His chest is left bare beneath the coat, a daring opening for any foe to try and target - none have yet succeeded.

Baalyr is a Shaman of great skill, invoking elemental spirits of the Earth, Fire, and Air. He sings to the Spirits every morning and evening, burning incense and making offerings. As a Shaman he believes that his duty is to maintaining the Balance between the Spiritual and Material worlds and to serve the will of the Spirits.


He is also a powerful combatant, wielding a massive Warhammer that he wields in one hand and a whip he carries on his hip. He is also a skillful rider, wielding a reinforced ashwood spear and a shield formed from the earth while charging into battle alongside the rest of the Stormhowlers on the backs of their wolf companions. His own mount, a truly massive She-wolf named Galerunner, is the leader of the pack and fights at her Master's side when he inevitably wades into the melee.

Raised from the cradle with the expectation of leading his Clan, Baalyr is a charismatic figure - as much as any Orc can be, at any rate. The volatile nature of his kind means a leader must not only be capable of physically reigning in the clan, but they must also convince them when physicality is not enough. He has a vision of a united Orc race, not beneath the banner of the Fire Giant but a banner of their own.


He is a devout Orc, worshipping the spirits of the Wilds and singing their praises. While the Colleges would denote him as a practitioner of Divine Magic, amongst his own people he is a Shaman. By word and song and deed he serves the Spirits, keeping the world in balance and enacting their will.


He is loyal and honorable to his vows and his people; when his mercenary company takes on a job, they keep it and do not betray their contract. Foes are accorded the chance for honorable deaths, even the hated humans, and while he fights with a savage intensity, he does not desecrate the dead nor engage in cannibalism. The enemy slain by his hand are given last rites to the spirits by his voice, and they will never die to a knife in the dark.
