Avalyn
Appearance
Avalyn (Ava) is short, compact and perpetually tense, as if always preparing for a fight. Her fiery red hair is thick and wild, often braided around her shoulder. Since surviving a lycan attack, her eyes have shifted from their original soft green to a striking amber, the irises ringed with a thin, unnatural red that glows when her temper rises. Her body carries the story of her survival. Light claw marks trace across her cheek and jaw, fading but unmistakable. A deep, ragged bite scar dominates her right shoulder, and long, brutal claw scars stretch across her torso, deep enough that even her new accelerated healing could not make them disappear entirely. She moves stiffly at times, betraying constant pain despite her attempts to mask it behind scowls and sharp words. Her clothing is practical and well worn.
Personality
Avalyn is volatile, quick to flare, and even quicker to say the exact thing that cuts deepest. Her attitude is sharp-edged and defensive, a shield built from sarcasm, barked insults, and refusal to show weakness. Beneath her hostility lies a terrible fear she tries her best to ignore.Despite her temper, she feels deeply. She’s loyal beyond reason to the few who manage to get close to her, protective to the point of recklessness, and stubborn enough to grit her teeth through any pain. She hides her emotions behind a rough exterior, but those emotions burn hot, and when combined with the influence of her affliction, they often surge out of her with terrifying force.
Abilities
Avalyn’s newly acquired lycanthropy has altered her in ways she barely understands. Her physical strength has increased dramatically, and she can move faster and endure more damage than any normal human. Her senses are sharp, and at times she can detect things she has no logical way of knowing. She heals quickly, though wounds tied to her original attack still throb with residual ache. Her shift is unstable. When transforming, the pain is brutal and overwhelming, leaving her mind clouded by instinct rather than thought. She cannot control when it happens, and intense anger, fear, or threat can push her toward partial transformation; her gaze flaring with an unnatural glow, canines lengthening, nails hardening into claws. These episodes frighten her, though she’d rather die than admit it.

Back Story
Avalyn grew up in a rural part of the Allirian Reach, surrounded by family and the rough, simple rhythms of a countryside settlement. She was always outspoken and stubborn, the kind of woman who stood her ground no matter who or what tried to push her back. Life wasn’t easy, but it was hers, steady and predictable.Everything changed on the night her caravan was attacked. She had been escorting a merchant’s wagon through a misty stretch of woodlands when a monstrous shape burst from the darkness. The creature tore through the camp with terrifying speed. Avalyn fought, but the werewolf overpowered her and sank its teeth deep into her shoulder.
When she awoke days later, she was blood-soaked and alone. The caravan was destroyed, others were dead, and her body burned with fever. She stumbled home, desperate for safety, only to find her village abandoned. Homes were broken into, belongings scattered, but the people, her family, were gone. Whether they fled, were killed, or fell victim to her first transformation, she has no answers. Only dread.
Since then, Avalyn has lived on the road, fighting through the agony of her changing body and the unpredictable surges of rage and instinct. She avoided others, terrified of what she might become around them. Despite her attempts to keep moving, she was recently captured. She doesn’t know by whom or for what purpose, whether hunters, slavers, or those who tracked... creatures like her.
