None of his brothers were quite sure where Ashyr came from, most claimed that he was simply born into the Templar of the Greywatch and that was that.

Not the most skilled nor the most cunning, Ashyr has served loyally within the Chapter of the Templar known as the Greywatch for more than a decade. He is a stalwart soldier, and and agile combatant. Throughout this years Ashyr has worked hard and has been recognized by his superiors. Before his death he long earned the title of Captain.

In his life Ashyr was incredibly well respected and hailed as a good commander and friend. More than one of his brothers owed his life to the Captain, and many remember him fondly.

The Greywatch Templar, of which Ashyr is a member of is a sect entirely dedicated to the liberation, collection, and protection of Magical Artifacts. Though these artifacts are largely what most would consider 'evil', their collection is not entirely limited to this fact. Whereas the White Raven Templar's could be considered as the Librarians of the former Templar Order, the Greywatch are the Vault Keepers.

This Chapter takes it's name from their main keep; Greywatch. It is a massive Fortress found nestled against the side of the mountains ringing the southern reaches of the Baara Steppes. Though their numbers are not as large as some other Chapters, their steady flow of recruits and careful training has lead them to survive long after the third Templar War.

In a continuance of their quest, the Greywatch often send out several of their adherence to search out and fight for magical artifacts that might pose as a danger.

It was upon one of these missions, lead by Ashyr himself, that the Templar met his fate.

Sent to collect an artifact of great power, the Greywatch was on their way back to the fortress when they were ambushed. His memories are shrouded, all but faded. He does not know who attacked them, who took the artifact, but Ashyr well remembers the feeling of a blade entering his gullet and a knife slipping over his throat.

He recalls the great blackness, an expansive abyss.

Then the breath that burned his lungs as he was brought back to life.
