In the pursuit of her passion, Artamese finds herself shirking her old life as a quiet librarian and leading a life as an adventuring Scrivener and--when the occasion calls for it--supervising dangerous missions with student mages. She finds herself caught in a precarious game of tug of war where she will have to choose between the society that raised her and gave her direction and purpose and the dangerous history of her ancestral power that could destroy her.

A dainty lady of average height and slender build, Artamese favors her father's lankiness and her mother's plain beauty. With chestnut brown hair she usually wears braided and rare grey eyes that hide behind a pair of spectacles, Artamese is often depicted as comely.

To her core, Artamese is a researcher and analyst. Having lived and worked in libraries, she often jokes that knowledge is her superpower. She has an affinity for linguistics and a profound attraction to the arcane and ancient. Having accompanied her mother on archaeological sites, she developed an athletic prowess for navigating through tight and dangerous spots. Acrobatic and daring, more often than naught she is testing her limits and pushing herself further out of her comfort zone.

Personality

Artamese is a woman who prefers books to people. Though she doesn’t lack courtesy, social graces are not her strong suit. She’s an introverted woman who only comes out of her shell when discussing her passions. Knowledgeable and sometimes shy, she is not unkind. Her curiosity tends to land her in trouble, and she can become over-zealous having discovered or learned something new. She best thrives when she has someone to teach something to and blossoms when her students grasp the knowledge she imparts upon them.

Biography & Lore

Artemese was born and raised in Elbion. Her father Ansel Prewitt was a respected merchant and budding scholar hailing from Alliria. Her mother, Jezabel Antigone studied and often guest-lectured abroad before relocating to the college district where she pursued a career in the mystical arts upon discovering a latent talent for sorcery and alchemy. Artamese has two sisters, the eldest being Jona Prewitt—who went on to pursue a career as a well-known herbalist who turned to Faith, and Onaria Descani (nee Prewitt) who was once the youngest Artificer recruited by a now defunct academy.

Prewitt's parents valued the mystical arts and education and encouraged Artamese and her two sisters to pursue both.

Her education concluded upon dropping out to study abroad. After displaying no obvious magical affinity and a fateful encounter with a Hell Hound, she discovered her ability to analyze magic in real time with a peculiar pair of spectacles; able to dissect and study various branches presented to her. Analyzing the abilities of others was the extent of her talent, which proved for a lucrative career as the skill was highly coveted and competitive—particularly with military forces. After several job rejections Artamese relocated back to Elbion where she took on work as a librarian assistant, research analyst and linguist.

She now has high aspirations of a new college, an institute that allows students to venture out into the world and put their learned skills to the test in an effort to assist the very community that funds their education and to provide real world experience for budding mages. Little does she know that her draw to the ancient arcane has deeper ties to her blood than she first realized and her desire to unearth and share it may have worse consequences.
