As the wheels of man's work turn,
to feed thy lady, self and city,
a parasite infests the gut,
a wolf of Alliria's own blue blood.
The dragon, the rat, the bloodthirsty bat,
the undead, the cursed, the haunted and twisted,
the liar, the shadow, the lord,
the one without heartbeat,
the vampyr.

Description
Béla Lindemann is a mostly Stokerian-like vampire in regards to outwards behaviour, abilities and general concept but with a character that is much different to the one of classical Dracula. He is somewhat in control of his curse, which allows for character development, but is still twisted making development much much slower. It is of note that he was turned around his early 30s, meaning that the mental profile he developed until then will stick with him for most of his life after death. This mental profile is defined by three main characteristics that influence his behaviour other than his vampiric curse.
Firstly, he is and always has been greedy, even as a member of a noble merchant family, leading to his disregard for the needs of the common folk and the capitalistic development of his business. This lust for money may be compared to the bloodlust he experiences when decrepit and in search of a new victim, and it may very well be the case that those two factors come into conflict if there ever arises a situation in which only a choice between one or the other is possible.
Secondly, he is prone to haunted temper tantrums if triggered and if the situation allows it. This stems from the fact that he is haunted by past memories, voices and images and still doesn't know how to deal with this affliction.
Thirdly, due to basically cursing and enthralling his own wife he realized that her character is gone since she is now blindly bound to him, so he has a nasty habit of searching for some type of "reincarnation" (hello Mina) of his wife that would turn by her own will. These lower grade vampires usually prove unsatisfactory after a while and land in the family graveyard in his mansion in caskets. He is also searching for a cure for the curse, for his love.
As a trader lord within Alliria he is a necessary evil, his death would bring about the collapse of an economic infrastructure that would heavily outweigh the cost of a few people kidnapped per year, some enthralled advisors and secret keeping. Furthermore, his business is managed by his council of enthralled advisors which are bound by hypnotist magic and are not vampires themselves. Most of his employees below the level of advisor are not bound by any magic but simply paid properly, for example manor guards.
The Allirian government is not aware that the House Lindemann is cursed, mostly because all investigators become enthralled and also because on a population of five hundred thousand people, if only zero point five percent are rich, that would be two and a half thousand patricians.
Not all is bad though, there are a few good qualities to the character that may not outweigh the evil but give space for the character to develop.
The character is fond of stargazing due to liking the mystery of the night sky, believing in some kind of higher power and always having a telescope at his manor, since he was a child.
Béla is trying to actively cure his wife, which would lead to him to wander beyond his manor and engage in risky activities.
Lastly, he is a master swordsman and likes to engage in sparring.

Biography
Béla Lindemann would grow up as the successor of a line of Allirian merchant lords and enter the business just as all of his forefathers did. He would meet the love of his life, Linda, through planned marriage in his early twenties and marry her. His life would go well until his late 20's, his parents would die. This would trigger a fear of the future which would lead to him developing a greedy attitude towards money as a manifestation of this fear. His greed would in turn expand his business but slowly turn his workers against him, the crescendo leading up to a climax in his early thirties when the workers would hire a witch in hope of cursing him. From their perspective the attempt was a complete failure, which would lead to the beheading of the witch in question, because their master became only crueler. Only Béla would know the curse succeeded.
At this point Béla would have to decide what kind of future he wants to see, and would talk with his wife (Linda {Story}). He would turn her in hope of saving her "life", but only end up botching the resurrection, botching in the sense that because he would turn her against her will, she would not be the same person anymore, much more just a haunted ghost of Linda that is in love with Béla than Linda herself. This would happen approximately 135 years ago.
Linda would be the first vampire thrall he would command to rest at his manor's family graveyard, she would lie in a cold casket awaiting her love possibly forever. Due to botching her resurrection, Béla would attempt finding another wife that behaves and looks just like Linda. He would kidnap a few women, all of whom would sooner or later be proven imperfect in his eyes and sent to the graveyard to rest. He is also searching for a cure for his wife.
