Apallon
Apallon is a wild elf living in the untamed lands of Talloc. He is the current Warrior-Chief in the bellicose Taanach Tribe, and the youngest to ever reach such a ranking among his people. As the de-facto leader of Talloc's most brutal and bloodthirsty tribe, he wields a great deal of power and influence, albeit not always with the precision and grace one would expect of an elf.
Despite Taanach's ruthless reputation, Apallon's reign as Warrior-Chief has brought on what could be considered a golden age for his tribe. Archaic and Draconian practices put in place only for the sake of appeasing Taanach's God were abandoned for more feasible and flexible libations. Ritual Combat, while still integral to the tribe's culture, was no longer allowed to end in the slaying of a participant.
Though Apallon is more merciful to those of his own Tribe, he has only shown increased aggression towards the elves of others. He views the land of Talloc as a competition for domination and standing, and he intends to lead Taanach to victory in that regard
While not all of those under him agree with his 'progressive' views, they speak not their concern: In Taanach, to challenge Apallon's rule would be to challenge him to battle, and with the tribe's only artifacts of the mainland, a curved silver sword and a small quiver of iron arrows, he is a force to be reckoned with.
Appearance
Apallon is a lean, muscular, and pale-skinned elf with dark hair and sunken brown eyes. Much of his youth was spent eating only the bare minimum and hiding underneath the only blanket he owned, and even now the last vestiges of the emaciated and overexposed boy that once remain in his matured form.
Apallon wears a dark green sash around his waist, the traditional garb of Taanach ritual combat, and boots made from the leather of the first beast he hunted alone. The only armor he wears is over the shoulder he once injured in one of his only losses in battle, crafted from the shell of a great tortoise and fortified with additional material from hunts over the proceeding years.

Skills and Abilities
Apallon is exceptionally talented in many forms of combat. Most proficient of these is his hand-to-hand and grappling, thanks to the many ritual battles he's competed in. Being an accomplished hunter, Apallon is a talented tracker, and he's also an excellent shot with a bow and prefers the use of sharp stone knives over bludgeoning weapons at short range.
His role as Warrior-Chief has cultivated his leadership abilities as well as his decisiveness, and Apallon is capable of keeping his head cool under great amounts of pressure.

Personality
Apallon holds a strong 'survival of the fittest' mentality, spawned from his own upbringing at the runt of the tribe. While not unfair or unjust, he believes that everything one possesses must be fought and bled for in order for it to truly be deserved.
He is known to be aggressive and confrontational towards those he does not trust, and sometimes even those he does. This behavior is somewhat due to his position, as Warrior-Chiefdom demands that he faces any and all opposition or argument head-on, lest he be challenged for his title.

Biography & Lore
Among the many elven tribes that inhabit the largely unexplored lands of Talloc, the Taanach tribe is known as one of the most violent and combative of the lot. Founded by warriors and hunters outcast from the other, older tribes, the Taanach live by the belief that might is right, and that power and influence is the right of the strongest. Worshipping a Warrior-God known as Tallios, every day within the tribe is highlighted by ritualistic combat in the center of the tribal grounds.
Born to two Taanach tribespeople of poor status and little renown in combat, Apallon was looked upon as an unremarkable child destined for a future of servitude and labor underneath those more powerful than him, as the weak blood than ran through his veins was seen as unsuitable for any respectable man of Taanach.
For a time, he was permitted to stay, albeit under less than desirable conditions; he received only scraps of food, a small tattered blanket to sleep beneath as his only shelter, and his fellow elves treated him as though he were filth. That he was allowed to remain was only because it was not the Taanach way to take children from their parents, such a practice was seen as disrespectful to the Warrior-God they believed they were all descended from.
Nevertheless, when his parents were slain in the ritual combat that all members of the tribe must undergo to continue living among the Taanach, that kindness died with them. Apallon was forced into combat in his parents' place, thrust into the ring against a bevy of other men and women desperate to keep their places within the tribe. It was expected that the weak-blooded youth would be quickly done away with, and his pedigree would be expunged from future generations.
Instead, the entire Taanach tribe watched in awe as Apallon thrived.
His upbringing of trial and turmoil had not broken him as it would any of lesser fortitude. It had reforged him and made him stronger than his peers who lived more comfortable and privileged lives. It was those peers that fell to his strength one by one, none standing a match against the runt they'd considered beneath them. Over the course of the next twenty years, Apallon struck down any and all opposition, rising to the peak of Warrior-Chief, and gaining domination over the Tannoch Elves.
He who had once been threatened with exile now stood at the top of Taanach. His blood, once considered weak and impure, was now the most desired and revered in his tribe's history.
