She grew up not being particularly rich, her father was a fish monger. She ended up marrying her childhood sweetheart, with both families too poor to pay for a wedding. That did not matter to Annie nor her husband as they were truly in love. The had seven children, but as their family isn't particularly rich she ended up having to work also to support all of them. She didn't mind though she just loved her family so much that the idea of her being able to give her children good opportunities was a blessing in itself.
