An-her Salih Amentotankhatra
"A desire held for the open wild, the variety it brings, can lead you to the kind of freedom you have yet to know..."
An-her Salih Amentotankhatra, the son of Maraanian traders, is a kind and welcoming Camelid satyr tradesman, happy to spend a minute talking to a stranger, whether they be there to be friendly, to trade, or because they are in need. Salih is quite tall, towering over most folks, but tries to keep himself looking unimposing, to keep from scaring those around him.
He holds in his possession a very mysterious steeping set, which he utilizes during longer visits with friends and strangers alike. One of the cups has a special property...
Appearance
A native of the sands...
Salih's hair is a dark brown and quite long when not tied up, which glints with the barest hints of auburn in direct sunlight. His eyes are a warm, welcoming liver brown, with wide pupils, as a camel. His skin is a warm mid-brown, and shines with various combinations of scented oils or sweat. His tan-furred camelid legs are long and wide-footed, and his ears are long and soft. His tail has a tuft at the end the shade of his head hair.
He lightly lines his eyes with the finest grind of lampblack pigment, and if you happen to be in his presence while bathing or otherwise scantly clothed, you will see the delicate tattooing around his arms, his collarbones and nape, along his sides, and down his back. They too are made of lampblack, in the glyphic shapes of prayers, protection, and good will, the artistic whorls of the ancients before him, the signs of his professions, and the love of his home. Ask, and if he finds trust in you, he may tell you their stories.
Salih shrouds himself from the oppressive sun in layer upon layer of brightly dyed, loose linen robings, and sirwal (harem pants) drawn loosely below the knee. On top he belts with tasseled ropes and wide strips of cloth, and drapes his head and throat with a large keffiyeh circled with a fine agal. His main colours of choice are dusty red, navy blue, and a dark sage.
Upon his back is a large pack, filled with items for sale and dangling with even more wares. A small pack with his own possessions resides on one hip, and upon the other hangs his small kissar, a lyre-like instrument. He carries a banner, mounted as a gonfalon or vexillum, on a stave that is a bit taller than he is, striped horizontally in crimson, light blue, light grey, cream, tan, and another bit of crimson at the bottom, with a peacock feather in the center. The bottom of the banner is tasseled.
Even with the low carry of his head, and the heavy pack of items, Salih finds himself standing quite tall amongst the human-sized crowds, and even amongst crowds of a more Orcish make. Still, he tries to make himself as kind and unimposing as possible to prevent scaring off his potential customers and allies, and to peddle his wares.
Of naming convention to whom it may concern... An-her is a familial honorific, with Salih as his given name and Amentotankhatra as a surname. He will answer to any combination of these names, but prefers to be known by familiar company as Salih. Worry not, he will likely let you know of this if he finds trust in you.

Skills and Abilities
Close Quarters
Salih's weapon of choice is simply his banner's stave, with the crossbar and banner detached. As such, he has practiced to be moderately proficient in quarterstaff techniques. He is capable of stabbing and slashing with daggers and other short blades, but dislikes it even more than having to fight with his stave.
Ranged
Salih practiced sport archery as a child, winning three orange third place ribbons while he still competed. However he is rusty and out of practice, leaving him only moderately competent in archery.
Magical
While a creature of magical nature, Salih doesn't spend nearly as much time practicing magic as he aught to, and therefore doesn't know how to intentionally or actively use magic during the rare spates of combat he has found himself in.
Survival
A traveller and a merchant by nature, Salih is beyond capable of surviving in the wilderness. He can forage, hunt, and skin and clean animals. He can keep weapons and armour in good condition despite keeping little of it himself, and mend his wares and clothing quite well. He is also able to mix simple salves and steep herbal remedies, make simple oil lamps and camp/cooking fires, and other necessary survival skills.
Creative
Salih's singing voice has a rumbling, occasionally haunting quality to it. He can play moderate tunes on the many several stringed instruments that pass through his possession, however his favourite instrument to play upon is his medium-sized kissar, a lyre-like instrument, from which he creates some of the best music. While his art skills aren't absolutely perfect, his ability to capture both still life and the living form are quite good, and while not always wholly realistic, his art pieces are pleasant to look at.
