Aldasitan was born 100 years after his grandfather's transformation. After he had his first born son Gedeon, Aldastian was given the family curse of vampirism, such was the way of the Von Lockes to ensure that their bloodline continues even as they practice these darker arts. After his transformation, Aldastian didn’t like what he had become. He struggled for weeks to contain his cravings for blood, which inevitably led to a frenzy that ended with his wife Adelynn slaughtered and fed upon by him. It was at this moment that Aldastian swore to protect the mortal kind, so that none would feel the anguish he had by his own two hands. To cover his tracks, Aldastian faked his death, and covered up the murder of his wife with a house fire, and his son was sent to live with a distant relative, one who had little connection to the actual Von Locke legacy and what become of the young child not even Aldastian knows.

Shortly after this event Aldastian established The Order of the Crimson Shield, an organization of Vampires and those most loyal to the Von Lockes. They hunt down and kill vampires, and other creatures, that have lost control and threaten the mortal races. It was at this point that the Von Locke family would seemingly vanish from the face of the world, with some scholars wondering what exactly happened. Their wealth, their status, and their power are gone. There are few who know the name Von Locke, and those who do recognize it look upon it with either wonder, fear, or hatred.
