Alana Solace
Secret Noble Affairs, Arranged marriages, and Politics were everything that Alana Solace knew. The Solace named didn't always hold such power and influence, but with hard work it became one, but at what cost? Family used to mean everything to the Solaces but as Alana grew up in such a high household, such ideals became less and less clear. Alana was no longer a daughter but a piece of property in order to elevate status.
Who you knew meant more than Who you loved and Alana knew that her parents did everything out of greed for power rather than Love. Love was weakness and as Alana's freedom grew less and less, the open waters of Vel Anir... the urge to steal and live among the streets became more and more intriguing. Alana would give up everything her family worked for in order to feel free. Was it selfish? Or just a part of the process of becoming an independent woman?
Her father would marry her off by age 19, yet a wedding was never completed as her wedding day was the day she became a runaway. She would find a ship of thieves and bandits, she would sail with them, and one day even become their "Queen". Imports and Exports would be hers for the taking, and jobs that paid her good money would be done. A life of adventure and Freedom was before her, and she wouldn't let her past stop her.
In order to remind herself that she was no longer Lady Alana, that she was no longer her past. She kept the ring that her chosen suitor gave her and never looked back as she would live a full life sailing in the winds.

Skills and Abilities
Mastery Swordship:
Alana throughout the years has learned how to defend herself well with swords. Even though she wasn't formally introduced to sword fighting, she can hold her own against a few guards and/or a skilled opponent. She carries on long adventures, a double edge sword that can disconnect and reconnect at her disposal. A gift, she would say, from the Vel Anir Weapons exports.
Master Theif: Even during her time as a lady, she learned how to steal very skillfully. Most of the jobs she gets as mercenary include thievery and within those jobs, sometimes betrayal is the key to getting more profit. With being a master thief comes great flexibility, swiftness, and light feet.
Hand-to-Hand Combat: What happens when weapons aren't near? Alana's first-ever mentor taught her how to defend herself when weaponry isn't an option. This includes hand-to-weapon and hand-to-hand.
Whip:Although fairly new at this skill. Alana has naturally been able to control the art form of using a whip. This helps her reach high places, get from one side to the other, or defend herself against large groups of enemies.
Personality
As a captain, she is responsible for her crew's life on the ocean. She's strict out of love for them but from time to time can relax and enjoy herself. Alana is a wise risk taker, as she feels that there is no reward in not taking a chance against the odds, and she's ambitious, a woman who knows what she wants and won't stop until she gets it. This is a good quality to have as it makes her determined among most things but it has its disadvantages as she can be extremely stubborn. To top everything off, Alana is not a trusting person. She believes that trust is earned and that once trust is broken there are no second chances unless proven otherwise.
