Appearance

Akozz Tor'kal, as the son of the Guardian, is a massive Orc among the species. Built broadly across his upper body, Akozz has numerous scars across his chest, which he takes to usually take to covering with a fur cloak, like much of the rest of his tribe. He has numerous tattoos across, depicting events in his life, and the history of his bloodline. Like his mother, he has large, pointed ears, similar to some elves. He keeps his hair tied back in a long braid down his back, and has feathers and bone beads woven into it at regular intervals. Unlike most other orcs, Akozz, and other Pure Red Orcs do not have considerable tusk, instead, they appear to be stunted and weak.

Skills and Abilities

Akozz is an accomplished warrior among his clan, having the strength and resilience of his father's lineage and the size and speed of his mothers. He is a masterful warrior when it comes to close-range combat, with a preference towards two large axes he carries on his back at all times. He is proficient with polearm weaponry, though he prefers not to use them if other options are available.

Akozz has a keen grasp of Orc military tactics, to the extent they exist at all. He is able to see a battlefield laid out before him and almost instinctually know the best locations to lay ambushes and traps, as well as when best to do a most unorcish thing, retreat.

Akozz has a minor understanding of Rune Magic, taught to him by his mother. In a pinch, he is able to use minor runes, focused mostly on enhancing his own strength or that of his weapons. Despite his rather strong connection with such magic runes, he sees it as a pointless endeavor to follow through within combat.

Personality

Akozz is a straight forward, blunt and uncompromising individual. When facing a problem, and the immediate solution is not to cut it in half with his trusted axes, Akozz will systematically tear down and analyze the situation at hand, finding the best solutions to the problem, though still preferring the original plan. When dealing with others, Akozz is direct with them, seeing little point in wasting time with carefully worded replies or pleasant lies, instead, he established his point and then refusing to move from it.

Despite his rather gruff demeanor to outsiders, Akozz is caring and protective of those he considers his family, or friends. When they are in danger, he throws himself to their defense with the same uncompromising mentality, putting himself in immense danger to ensure their safety. Those he considers his friends are generally held close, within punching range to be precise, and Akozz will do what he can to ensure they are taken care of in his home. Should something happen to those dearest to him, Akozz will no stop until they have been avenged, even if that means he must carry that grudge into the next realm.

When it comes to ranged combat, and those who use it, Akozz has a generally insulting set of responses for them. He sees ranged combat and weaponry as a waste of effort and an entirely unreliable form of combat at the best of times. Such things cannot be trusted to always hit their mark, even with the most experienced master using them. Ranged weaponry, to Akozz, puts the user and those around him at risk. Best to simply cut whatever the problem is up at close-range and be certain it goes down.

Biography & Lore

Akozz Tor'kal can trace his lineage back to one of the daughters of Menalus, the great Fire Giant King of Molthal. The stories have spoken about her as a beautiful woman of immense grace and charm. As all daughters of Menalus are, she was hidden away within Molthal, far from the eyes of outsiders and Menalus' minions, the Blight Orcs. She grew tired of this imprisonment and grew close to one of her bodyguards, a Blight Orc of some minor standing. Over several months of secret talks, the two made a plan to escape from Molthal together. During a stormy night, the two fled, leading a small band of other Orcs with them to establish a new home far from Molthal.

Or, perhaps she was an incredibly disgusting woman of immense size and evil cunning. She was locked away from the rest of the world by her father, and grew resentful of her captivity. She spent many years planning her escape, eventually corrupting and recruiting a number of Orcs to her personal use as slaves. With them she fled into the wilderness of the world, intent on establishing a new dark kingdom with herself as the undisputed Queen. Or, perhaps it is one of over a dozen different rumors about the daughter of Menalus and the Orc that would be Akozz's grandfather. What is known for certain is that the daughter of Menalus fled Molthal with a band of Orcs, and she later came to sire children with the strongest of these Orcs.

Together, this breakaway group of Blight Orcs fled from the heartlands of Molthal, heading southeast towards their perceived freedom. On an island in the middle of a raging river, this small group of Orcs established a new settlement, which they came to call Tor'amor, translating literally to Red Ford, named as such for the abundant red clay lining the riverbed. There, the small group of Blight Orcs began to establish a new life, under the guidance of the first of a new breed of Orcs, the Red Orc chieftain Jaru Tor'kal. They quickly adapted to their new home, with each Orc taking to covering their bodies with the red clay to attempt to match the skin tones of Jaru and his new bride, the daughter of Menalus.

Two generations after the founding of Tor'amor, Akozz Tor'kal was born. Unlike the other Orcs of the Tor Tribe, Akozz was born with a natural red pigment, inherited from the union of his grandfather and grandmother.
