Appearance

Adorned with various trinkets he has looted from merchants over the years, Aias confidently saunters with a slight sway; a product of his time at sea. Draped over his white cotton shirt is a blue dinner waistcoat that has been buttoned down for breathability. It has been torn and stitched back up many times, which denotes the experience of combat and adventuring he has had. Further down he has a large red rag that used to be the flag of a rival ship but its constant use has washed out the pattern, and it now serves as a way to prevent the rubbing of his utility belt. The belt exists for him to store various helpful academical substances on hand, such as poison and smoke bombs. on rare occasions he will keep small stocks of Gunpowder or vials of Greek Fire, but only when he knows that he will need an extra edge.

Dangling from his hip are his two prised possessions: a pair of finely crafted elven short swords. They have been by his side for decades, and he hopes to have the pleasure of using them for many more decades to come. His legs are clothed in a fine silk that he pilfered from a passing trade wagon after losing his last pair in a nights of... unsavoury activities. His boots are made of hardened leather, and strapped tightly to his feet, as not to get in the way of himself while climbing or running from a fight he can't win.

Skills and Abilities

Never receiving a formal training in swordsmanship, Aias relies solely on tips and tricks he has picked up from his associates and from his prior experiences. this has resulted in a rather unconventional style, that relies more on unpredictability and back handed tactics to a fight. the downside to this is that he must always stay on the offensive, otherwise he shall have to use his sparse information on defence tricks. As a boy, he spend much time aboard the rigging of ships and therefore he has no issue with climbing, and falling off many times has given him time enough to learn how to swim for extended periods of time. Aias knows little magic, but the magic he does know consists of making small illusory affects, such as an arrow passing through the air or a bag of coins rest in his hands. After saving up enough stolen money, he managed to get a travelling enchanter to make his boots swifter, and allow his swords to fly back into his hands with a mere flick of the wrist. Never bothering to read books, Aias knows little of the arcane, nor of any information that he has deemed to be unimportant to his line of work.

Personality

Due to his long life, he has much disdain for the lesser races. Not hatred, but pity for their fleeting existence and clumsiness that comes naturally to elves. Other than his pre existing biases, it is quite possible to earn his respect if you establish yourself as competent enough to work with. He has a track record of completing his contracts, regardless of the consequences, even when it would be more beneficial to him to ignore the job.

Biography & Lore

Born in Alliria, his parents had a small merchant firm which operated by transporting sugar and spices to far off lands for a profit. While helping his father with the navigational tools, their ship was set upon by a band of marauders, who took the crew as slaves. After months of back breaking work in the galleys, they reached Cerak At'Thul, where he and the rest of the crew were herded into slave pens. luckily, he had stashed away a pair of navigational compasses, to use as a weapon, but instead he used them to fiddle with the lock, and creeped past the guards and out of the back gates. living in the slums for a few months, he had survived on stolen table scraps from the taverns, until he found a job as a rigging monkey aboard a pirate vessel. from that point on, he has worked as an outlaw, working his way up the ranks, eventually getting enough connections to become a freelance criminal. During his escapades, Aias has seen many sights and pulled through many sticky situations. From the Savage tribes of the Garramarisma Bayou, or the devious traps found in the sunken ruins of the Amol-Kalit desert, Aias has seen many wonders the world has to offer, and is always looking for more adventure. That is, if it can turn a profit.
