Ae'lara has a fit and sturdy build, with strong legs and forearms to hang on to a roc in flight. Tattoos reminiscent of wings, flight, and patterns of flowing air don parts of her face as well as her shoulders, arms, and back. Though her people are hardy and tolerant of cold, she wears thick woolen clothes for long flights. On the ground or on shorter flights she will wear the traditional wool and leather garb of her tribe.

The foremost skill of Ae'lara's people is language, including the ability to communicate with beasts. She knows many languages of Aerithil and is able to learn new languages quickly. Her strong commitment to the principles of her people and the League make her very trustworthy, and she is an able ambassador and arbiter.

Ae'lara was raised in the steep mountains of the spine, and is a ready climber with sure feet on steep, uneven ground. She is skilled at navigation to guide her roc in flight. She is also trained in the use of a pole arm and hand-to-hand combat, but she only uses these skills for defense.

Ae'lara is fierce and strong of character, with unwavering loyalty to Earame, her people, and her principles.

Ae'lara's village lies on the sides of a steep canyon high in the mountains of the Spine, where the rocs nest and raise their young. Her people have an ancient, symbiotic relationship with the rocs that is mutually beneficial. Ae'lara was chosen at an early age and raised alongside Earame, to whom she is bound for her lifetime.

Earame is a mountain-roc of the Spine. Being female she is large for a roc, with a wingspan of about 150 feet. Her feathers are dull red, gray, and white in color (males are much brighter, with less gray and more white), with a white crest and yellow eyes. Her species has no natural predators. She wears a harness and saddle, and can carry a modest amount of supplies and cargo. She can also carry several passengers, though she agrees to this infrequently and reluctantly as she prefers to only carry Ae'lara.
