Aegnor Ransiren
Finding no joy in Alliria, Aegnor set out on adventures until finally settling down in Crossroad Mire with a girl he fell in love with in his travels. Several years later she died due to old age, leaving Aegnor with three kids who he struggled to take care of. When they grew up into adults they left to pursue their dreams, neglecting their father. Left alone once again, Aegnor spends his time in the sea, catching fish and rethinking his life decisions. At the end of the day, he drinks at a pub and writes about the adventures he could've had.
Appearance
Although he is a relatively tall man, he developed a slouch over the years. Has long white hair, and an even longer beard.
Skills and Abilities
Having spent the majority of his old age in Crossroad Mire, he has a vast knowledge of fishing. In his travels he develops a knack for sword fighting, and carries one around with him wherever he goes.
Personality
He was very adventurous in his youth, but when his wife died he slowly adapted to being a father to his children. A cheerful man who rarely gets angry, he treats everyone he meets as warmly as he can. Was more romantic in his prime in comparison to his old age.
Biography & Lore
<Excerpts of letters from Aegnor's Journal, where he writes of adventures past and present and keeps his letters, whether they be sent to him, or unfinished by him:
-------------------
((A letter to the love of his life, Elyza. Their parents never wanted them together, they simply fell in love with each other and met each night, Aegnor courting her every passing day. The day came when their parents found out about them, and separated them, forbidding them to meet.))
''Dearest Elyza,
I don't intend to go back. Ever. I plan to leave Alliria behind me. No one must ever know I left. Not even Elyza. Oh, sweet Elyza how I wish to look upon your face and kiss your beautiful lips. But we both know it cannot be. My parents will never allow it. I long to look you in the eye and tell you all this myself, but those of my blood...I do hope you understand, Elyza. They already hate me as I am. I can't bear to see the pain in your face. So that is why I must leave. But I promise with all my heart, you will be on my mind always.
Love, Aegnor.''
((Elyza wrote him back, proposing they meet again at the docks to wish him farewell. Aegnor, scared that harm will come to both of them if he did, refused. That night he left.))
---------------------
((The two of them still wrote to each other, but Elyza wrote less and less everyday. Worried, Aegnor asked her if she still love him.))
((She replied, but not in the way he expected.))
((She had married a noble.))
---------------------
((In response to Elyza's letter that told him she married another man.))
''Dearest Elyza,
Oh, how you've hurt me so! Your letter has pierced my heart and I alone must sweep its remains. If you've had the notion to marry another, then you haven't the need to tell me. I'm deeply sorry I was unable to meet your standards. I I hope you live a long, wonderful life with your new love of your life.
Farewell.
From, Aegnor.''>
