Thanasis | The Borderlands | The Wall

It was midday at the Borderlands when Molgar arrived. It had been a long journey for the orc, as the portal stone only toon him to Thagretis, but he was finally reaching his destination, the city of dragon riders. He didn’t quite believe the travelers at Thagretis on the ‘organic border wall’, but now it was firmly in Molgar’s face. The orc did a quick look right, then left, and headed over to the wall to inspect it. He had seen ornate armors said to be made of dragon scales before, but this was different. Almost like it was still alive. Giving into temptation Molgar reached out a hand and touched it. The sensation was chilling, hard, yet possessing a slight moisture as though he were grasping a snake.

“Hold greenskin.” Molgar turned to see a human encased in an iron uniform, spear raised. Behind him were another half dozen or so men, similarly clothed and armed. A couple held bows with arrows knocked and strings pulled. “What’s your purpose here?”

“I am a traveler en route to Thanasis in search of history and song.” Molgar replied, taking his hand off the wall and facing the patrol.

“His accent. He’s from beyond the stones.” One of the less brave patrolman said.

“What use has an orc for a song?” The spearman countered.

“I am a bard. I make my livelihood through song.” Molgar said.

“And the axe over your shoulders?” Another patrolman asked.

“It has served me well against many a beast and bandit. I’d advise any traveler carry such arms these days.”

“Why were you touching the wall?” The spearman asked, so far nonplussed by his answers.

“I admired it. I’ve not seen anything like it before.” Molgar responded. “Please, I only wish to reach Thanasis. I mean you no harm.” The orc continued.

“I’m not sure I believe you traveler. I’ll have to get one of my superiors.” The spearman responded. “Ralof!” He yelled behind him, and one of the patrolmen hurried off.

Molgar sighed. He was so close, and it was such a pretty day.
