It was a foggy morning when the three ships showed up at the port city of Elbion. It was fairly early, just after sunrise, and fog hugged the water closely. It was a fisherman who first saw them, three looming shapes in the fog. Before he could tell anyone, the shapes were revealed to be ships with twin keels. Flat bottomed ships, much wider than most ships that roamed the waters near there. A voice called out in a foreign, unknown language, one that didn't sound like any other that had been heard in Arethil before. The ships docked without permission, and armoured men disembarked, though all they carried were swords, which remained in their scabbards. A man disembarked, the last man, he was a slight bit taller than the rest, his helmet having a long red tassel on the top, which fell behind his head. At his hip was sheathed a broad saber, rather than a straight, narrow sword with two edges.
The man spoke to the fishermen, in the common tongue, although it wasn't very good and the grammar had much improvement to be made. "Where are us?" His voice was strong and confident, but he was slow in his pronunciation, as though trying to make sure that he said it correctly. He obviously lacked practice in the common tongue, but he might be able to get by.
The fisherman stuttered. "Th-this is Elbion, a p-port, s-sir. We mean ye no 'arm, I can't well 'urt a fella such as yerself. Le' me go, I can 'elp ye, wit talkin an such."
The man, Sung Na, took a moment to process what was said, the man's accent making it difficult for him to understand without difficulty. But after he processed and understood what was said he nodded, "Good, me not talk good. This language strange to me."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The man spoke with the Harbourmaster and came to an understanding, and the first foreign gold was spent on Arethil soil. He managed to arrange, with difficulty and many miscommunications, his troops and ships stay in the harbour. It was a few days before he met Llyn Von Stehlen, and over those couple of days he was making sure to improve his common speech. He had always been a quick learner, and got better over those few days, although he was still far from perfect, he no longer found it impossible to speek without a lengthy moment of pause for thought. He met her on the dock, when he found her looking at his ships, and their foreign design. (Since shes an engineer, I assumed that she would have an interest in such a thing)
"Hello, what is your name?" He says haltingly, still trying to make sure that the correct words were said.
