"Mm, I've had quite a lot of spare time on my hands lately, to watch you, and your whole little Order. The shadow chuckled again, a sound that emanated far from the source. They don't call me the Everwatcher for nothing, after all. The figure spread its sinewy arms out. Well, what do you think? You won't use those eyes of yours, so why not give them to me?"

- Kingdom of Mud

Appearance

In most instances, the Everwatcher appears as a black, shifting silhouette of a humanoid. Even in a more solid state, he has an ephemeral quality, pallid and billowing as if made of smoke. Since the Everwatcher can only manifest on the physical plane through a borrowed vessel, his exact features vary. The only thing that stays the same are his eyes - a burning white that gleam with their own cruel light.

Skills and Abilities

Lacking a physical body, the Star Eater is reduced to whispering, and watching through the dreams of others. Given a vessel, he can interact briefly with the physical realm. This is not his true form, and his powers are limited to the strengths and abilities that the sacrificed person once possessed. The vessel also tends to die after awhile.

The Everwatcher is still able to make pacts with loyal followers, granting them power in exchange for their eyes, in much the same manner that a demon or fae makes a pact with a warlock.

Personality

What was once a man, is now a thousand fragmented pieces lodged into the collective consciousness of the Loch, a metaphysical realm of mind and dreams. When one of these shards wiggles loose and gains a will, they tend to be snarky.

Biography & Lore

The Everwatcher was once a man, who lived and died in the age of Expansion. Except, the legend goes that he gained immortality at the Eldyr Tree, and cannot truly be killed. Instead, his body was destroyed, and his consciousness was locked away in the dream realm, so that he could not enter a new form. His followers, the Sightless, wait for the day he will return to Arethil, and the more ambitious among their ranks actively seek a way to reanimate the Everwatcher into a new body.
