Taken in by the Bārād as an infant, the only life Fade has ever known has been among his brothers and sisters.

Raised to be an assassin of tremendous skill Fade is no lesser than any of his adoptive siblings. He is incredibly deadly with a variety of different weapons, though favors the use of two short swords paired with a variety of thrown daggers. These weapons are usually coated with the purplish hued poison of the Tiri Lizard, an incredibly venomous reptilian found in the Arrek mountains.

Along with his skill in weaponry, Fade has also been seen to possess some minor magics. Able to slip in and out of shadows, the extent of the assassins abilities are unknown, but the darkness seem to cling to him even during days of brightest sun.

Though raised within a cult of assassins Fade has, unlike many of his siblings, shown a penchant for a sense of humor. Perhaps as a way to deal with the cruelty of his work, the man seems to always have time for a joke. Many of his victims having heard one terrible pun or another before their death.

A fate, that some say is worse than the endless abyss.

The Bārād

Though only a colloquial name, The Bārād are a group of assassins who have long operated outside of the Arrek Mountains near the city of Salitra.

Rumored to either have been named after or invented the infamously difficult Card Game of the same handle, the Bārād have long lived in infamy as killers for hire. Though much of what is known of the organization is only rumor. It is said that the group spends most of their life deep within the Arrek mountain, their hold set within the very rock itself and supplied by the local villages in exchange for protection.

The Bārād function with seemingly impunity, lead by a man only called 'The Old Faceless One', or simply 'The Old Man' to many of the assassins under his purview.

No one is quite sure how many killers sleep within the mountains, though many scholars have assumed that the number is never more than twelve. This is due to the important of the number within the card game, the greatest and winning suit being made up of the twelve face cards within the deck. Each of their assassins, whenever found or questioned, going by the name of these cards.

Despite their low numbers however, the Bārād are incredibly dangerous and have operated for centuries with nigh on impunity.

Many meeting their end at the hand of their blades.
