Counterpoint.
Blade that senses demons (grows cold in the presence of demons, about 30 feet away, increasing in chill at proximity).
Natural ability to damage and stab through both. Easy to hide with dark clothing, given its black steel and needle-like blade. Its mixture of emril- and Celestine iron grants it an ability to puncture through most armour.
Once part of a larger blade seized from a defeated drow raid, this cadre weapon was re-smelted with Celestine iron (meteorite iron) into a smaller weapon to grant it truly formidable abilities. The emril steel makes it incredibly durable and deadly against unnatural creatures, while its Celestine iron helps it puncture through even magical defences, and grants it the abiility to sense demons and magic.
History
House Yldore was long the prime distributor and patron of craftsmen specialising in arms and armaments. They supplied most of the City Watch and Alliria's other militia with weaponry, as well as selling weapons abroad. Whether rendered from common steel or iron, or from more rare materials such as Celestine iron or emril steel, a weapon of Yldorian make carries a rightful reputation as of the highest quality. Their magical weapons are even more sought after, and since the fall of House Yldore, has become priceless artifacts worth much to any society of collectors.
Counterpoint is one such rare artefact, an ancestral piece that has remained in the old Yldore armory and gathered dust, when not used by Fane Yldore for defence on his many escapades. It has since been dusted off by Xeraphine Yldore and granted as a gift to the queen of Zar'ahal, Vyx'aria.
