Vaultkeeper is known as a powerful, ancient, and secretive House of Dwarves that has been interwoven in Dwarven politics and power structure for as long as Belgrath has existed. The founder of their line was Zhesovved Vaultkeeper, a wise and powerful architect of vaults and prisons that were built to hold the most powerful sorcerers, demons, demi-gods, and threats to the safety of Dwarfkind and Arethil as a whole. The heads of Clan Vaultkeeper are often learned warriors and mechanists with magical understandings of logic and reason. Forever tasked with guarding all that resides in the ancient vaults and eternally perfecting them so that nothing may escape and so that none may crack them.

They are godless, revering only their ancestors and the greatness of their inventions and crafts. The Vaultkeepers take pride in those prisoners, artifacts, and treasures they have kept guarded through the centuries. Their current head, Zharzohved Vaultkeeper stands as a paragon of all of the things his family stands for and is, perhaps more ambitious than others have been in the past...

...The memories of dwarves are long and they remember grudges in the same way they remember the crafts of their ancestors. Zharzovhed is blessed with a genius mind and so, genius are his grand machinations for the collection debts paid to his line. There is a proper saying among the Dwarves that the Vaultkeepers will claim their debts by Bolt Or By Vault.

Appearance

Zharzohved is a brown skinned dwarf with a massive white beared. He has a thick and muscled body with all manner of scars and burns on it. He is usually seen in heavy and ornate armor, a display of the wealth available to the Clan of Vaultkeeper. His eyes are slate-gray and he never smiles.

Skills and Abilities

Zharzohved is the keeper and warden of the Deepvaults, a vast prison and storage for treasures and all manner of horrors and criminals that have plagued dwarfkind and Arethil for thousands of years. Paramount, even before his skill as a warrior is the understanding and intricacies of how mechanical objects work. As such, Zharzohved is a high level tinkerer, capable of creating and perfecting high level locking mechanisms as well as complex designs to automatons and semi-sentient machinery. While this understanding is magical in it's nature, it is not recognized as such by those of the Vaultkeeper line. Instead, it is their belief that they inherit the knowledge of their ancestors that prevails among their line. Magic, to a Vaultkeeper is no more than another means to power the machines born from their logic.

Zharzohved is a capable combatant and commander, leading a private army of dwarves that guard the Deepvaults against horrors and criminals unimaginable. His axe and sword hands are always ready and his crossbow eye is sharp.

The head of Vaultkeeper is also required to be a wise businessman and banker as the Deepvaults also hold massive treasure hordes of old and powerful Dwarven Families. A business that has kept the Vaultkeepers at a powerful position in dwarven society.

Personality

Zharzohved possesses a meticulous mind that results in him being a dwarf of few words. Many, however, are his thoughts for within his own mind exists the designs for many a great dwarven mechanism. His pride and joy in his long life is the creation of great vaults and security mechanisms as well as dwarven weapons of legendary ilk. The other side to him is all duty. Keeping the Deepvaults safe from within and outside forces as well as collecting the debts and paying off grudges brought to bare against his family's name.
