House Umbra

Whilst House Umbra is considered a Minor House of Vel'Anir, their history stretches nearly as far back as the Great Houses and as such they have enjoyed more power than most other Minor lines. Their founding member was Umbra Luana, the eldest daughter of Petunia and Darrin Luana who are widely recognised today as the start of the Great House. Umbra was dissatisfied when her father marked her younger brother as heir and cut ties with her parents to start out on her own, marrying one of the younger displaced princes in an effort to secure her new Houses' power. Despite her animosity towards her parents, Umbra stayed loyal to her brother and as such House Umbra became a cornerstone to the Luana power.

However, the histories show family strife continued to rear its head and at times House Umbra had known to side with other Great Houses when they have seen it play to their favour including both Weiroon and Luana's ancient enemies, Viirak. Their ability to play the Great Game has earned them a weary respect from most major houses.

During the revolution Umbra were the first to declare for the rebels but used the chaos to stage a coup against Luana. Although there is no proof, it is widely believed House Umbra are the reason for the Head of House Luana's sudden death and the reason his heir apparent is missing.

Trix has dark brown almost black hair that she prefers to wear short, much to her mothers chagrin. The unruly waves give it a choppy almost spiky appearance only exaggerated by her complete lack of care for brushing it. Fortunately for the girl the edgy look suits her prickly disposition and overall look. That being, of course, to take anything conventionally feminine and turn it to something scandalous and bloody. For example, the roses that decorate most of her armour and scabbard are painted in a red almost black and their prettiness is offset by the mean spikes and thorns she partners them with.

Her outfits are designed to illicit reactions in the hopes somebody says something she can reward with a fist in the throat.

Toxic Touch: Trix has the ability to produce different toxins often found in plants. This ranges from poisons and hallucinogenic to rare antibodies and and bacteria. The longer her physical touch with a persons bare skin, the stronger the dose they will receive. Trix has experimented over the years with better ways to administer these toxins to others and has found that the exchange of fluids often leads to quicker and nastier results.

Immunity: Because of the above gift, Trix is also almost entirely immune to toxins and poisons for her body produces the natural antibodies at a rapid rate to combat them.

Biokinesis: Trix can manipulate and communicate with fauna of all kinds. This enables her to use the environment around her as a living weapon either under her direct control, or, she can manipulate and twist its nature to become a monster in its own right. There are landscapes which don't lend itself as well to this magic and so Trix often carries a pouch of seeds with her for emergencies.

Alchemy: Due to her innate ability to understand and talk to plants, and her own gifts with toxins, Trix has become an avid and proficient student in the art of alchemy where she had learnt to recreate some of her more deadly naturally producing toxins to be used as weapons by others. Often she coats her weapons in these poisons so that she doesn't necessarily have to touch another to deliver her poisons. She also makes a very popular brand of lipstick among female Dreadlords that can paralyze another human for up to an hour.

Trix has all the arrogance of a noble combined with the power of a Dreadlord to back it up. With a cocky confidence in her own gifts combined with an inborn dislike for those she considers lesser, it makes her a hard person to get along with. That's not to say it is impossible. Beneath it all there are the usual uncertainties all teenagers have about themselves which Trix covers up with a dry and dark sense of humour, and a love of inflicting pain on others or making them feel inferior.

To the friends she does have, however, Trix is extremely loyal. Or, at least she is while they serve her purpose.
