A Rare Blessing
Born to an unremarkable Tyrian family, of which have served in the smallest circles of Tyr, living modestly, a son was born with a gift that set him apart from his family. It was not until he could walk that Theron had begun investigating the kitchens in which his father worked in, drawn to the scent of blood that came from the meats his father would cut and clean in preparation for cooking. Not until he could form words did he receive training to hone this skill, to be sponsored by the rich family in which Theron's father headed the restaurant owned and run by them.The Death Watch
By the time he reached appropriate age to put his name forth to join the ranks of the Death Watch, Theron was humbled by not performing the best in the physical component of recruitment. He was grossly unprepared, but did not give up after such an experience. By the third year, the Ogres began to reconise him. It was important to him that he excelled in this, to prove he could do something no matter how embarrassing and discouraged he may have felt.It was not until he began training with the Death Watch did he allow reveal his unique gift. After a few attempts to get a team out to hunt down the scent of blood, it was not until an outsider had sought refuge in Tyr, bleeding out and steps away from death's door. His mother was a medic, and had passed on her knowledge to her son who had been steered in the direction to enrol in an education of healing before his mind changed.
Near a decade in service, it has become well known that Theron Brokkr would know when you bleed. Of course, accidents can happen, but a mere small cut did not give off a strong enough scent for Theron to sense. Still, hysteria and panic had grown many to believe it was almost sinful, a grave error to bleed, and expected the Bloodletter to knock on their door. There is a dedicated team that works under Theron, tasked with investigating the allure of large amounts of blood or slow bleeding, all known by Theron. Such a service has seen many not dare to risk being found out by the Death Watch.
Characer Lore
After succeeding in earning a better life than what he was born into, Theron has served as a dutiful and loyal member of the Death Watch. He is one of few not of ogre descent serving in the Guard, but does not allow this to hinder his work ethic. All he has ever wanted was to have purpose, and direction. He is a hard worker, perhaps relentless in achieving his goals, but Theron could be easily bought if it serves him well.References
