Siobhan Balsera
Appearance
Siobhan is of Southeast Asian descent. She has dark skin, hooded eyes and pin-straight black hair, which is usually cut short, shaved at the sides and long at the front. Sometimes she leaves her hair long when travelling or on the road, and ties it back in a ponytail. She has largem doe-brown irises, which are so dark they look black.
She has broad shoulders, and a lithe, but muscular body type. She has narrow hips and a straight waist. With a square jaw and stern eyes, she is intimidating, masculine and very handsome. Her clothes are rugged and dark, often torn and found from wherever, but clean if she can help it.
Cleanliness is the mark of a good soldier, and even when living in the wilderness with no quick access to clean water, Siobhan never makes an exception to this rule, and she is always preened and looking smart, despite ragged clothes and impoverished surroundings.

Skills and Abilities
Eastern martial arts and many kinds of melee weapons. She is trained in archery but doesn't have an aptitude for it like she does with a sword. She is strong and extremely fit, but not a hulking tank, with her combat style centered more around dexterity and speed, and less around brute strength.
She is also a cunning strategist and can lead small groups of soldiers in small-scale, and guerilla style skirmishes, but is less good at handling leadership roles in larger conflicts. While she loves telling people what to do, and making her own rules, she isn't so great at dealing with the repurcussions of it, as well as the actions of other high-ranking leaders, both friend and foe, she might tick off.
Diplomacy isn't her friend. Hitting things is more fun.
Siobhan has some magical abilities. These include pyromancy, telekinesis and Eastern forms of Divine magic that allow her to communicate with her native Gods.
Siobhan only has a novice control of magical disiplines and is not well-trained or powerful enough to use magic outside of important situations, such as combat. Apart from prayers to her native Gods which she perfroms daily, her magical skills are intended, and were trained soley for combat. She cannot use it on a whim or without good reason, or risk draining her energy and leaving herself unwell. She carefully hones and tempers her magical sensitity through simple ritual and prayer for when combat may arise, but otherwise, but must save energy she would expend on major magical acts for they are truly needed.
That's not to say she can't use pyromancy to start a fire or telekinesis to lift a branch, she just needs to be careful she doesn't overdo it.
Drainage of energy or bodily strength is not the only risk. If Siobhan uses a power carelessly and without preparation, it may explode, fall out of her control and cause damage to the area or herself.
A survalist and lover of nature, Siobhan is great at living off her surroundings and getting by in remote conditions. She has a vast knowledge of plants, animals and much of the science found within nature.

Personality
Siobhan Balsera is a former soldier from an Eastern faction, who has been exiled to Epressa after disobeying orders during an important conflict.
She has since travelled to the Western contintents, where, after living in the wilderness and learning their language for the past several years, is searching for a new army to serve.
But progress has been slow, and her common tongue is still fractured. A soldier at heart, Siobhan internally craves a sense of order and disipline in her life, but at the same struggles to comply with orders she doesn't like, the reason for her exile in the first place. She is insufferably critical and a habitual thinker, which leads her to clash with authority figures.
Because of her aptitude for, and lack of moral conflict with violence, her service as a skilled combatant and warrior is often valued, but discarded by most employers when she inevitably goes off and does what she wants.
Her humble affect wins the respect of authority figures and officials who might want to recruit her, but she loses it the moment they get whiff of her arrogance.
She is no thief, though and places a high priority on honor. If there is one thing Siobhan hates it is to leave a job unfinished. Any tasks she commits to she must see through to completion, even if it means disregarding terms or breaking rules along the way. Those don't matter to Siobhan, only that the task is finished, finished well and the end result is excellent. Her habit of critical thinking is useful here. She will analyze a plan for every possible flaw, or a task for points where it could go wrong until certain everything is perfect.
If assisted by someobody else, even in a small way, she will make sure they are repaid, be it by assisting with a similar act, helping them out with various things for a long period of time, or simply completing a task they required of her in full. She rarely demands payment and hates to be in debt to anyone.
Siobhan thinks highly of herself, but because of her confidence and initial security in herself and her skills, she doesn't feel a need to show off or make it blatant, so it's never obvious until it causes real problems. She is also very quiet, and doesn't say enough to let people know know about her behaviour.
Siobhan, while reserved and even sweet, is still a thug with a horrible knack for, and enjoyment of brutality. She isn't sadistic, at least not in the sense that she goes to kill or hurt people for the sake of it. She simply doesn't have an emotional reation to violence or a signal that tells her it is wrong, so when she gets involved in violent situation, she doesn't hold back.
She can logically determine why it might be wrong to hurt somebody, but doesn't feel pain, sadness or any strong emotive response.
And if Siobhan does decide it's wrong to cause harm, the "harm" is a disadvantage to her, not the person or village who is actually going to suffer.
This comes from her mindset as a warrior. She is naturally wired to disregard human casualties in favor of her army or faction, but since she doesn't have any of those, the faction she's fightin for is herself. She's in a mindset that tells her what's doing is heroic or selfless, when it is the opposite.
But this can be a positive.
Siobhan is highly protective of those she loves, and in the event a friend, girlfriend, or a family or child of a friend is threatened, the individual doing the threatening can expect a machete through the face.
She will feel grief if a loved one is hurt or killed, but past experiences have taught her to trust nobody and to prepare for the possibility of even a close friend or lover putting her in danger. Because of this, she has wired herself to expect situations where she will have to betray a friend or strangle a lover who ratted her out.
Situations like these frustrate Siobhan, because, ideally, she would rather have a strong base of allies and confifants she can depend on, and who are loyal to her, as she believes she has been to them.
This never happens because Siobhan is an asshole.
She is loyal to others, but only when they are doing what she wants. Any friends or allies she makes just turn on her anyway because she's controlling, strict and never likes or makes any effort to accomodate thei ideas because she thinks she knows best.
This "need of order" is really a desire to enforce order.
This is also because of her inability to react to things emotionally, or at least have very strong emotional reactions. She doesn't experience disagreements, betrayel or conflict as complicated, serious situations that involve many different points of view and opinions, but as inconveniences she can make disappear with threats and violence.
Siobhan can have strong emotional reactions, but they are limited to egregious or critical situations. The emotional range she never uses is left to constantly simmer until it erupts into anger. Rage is the easiest thing she can feel, and the only immediate and natural.
When threatened or inconvenieced, anger is her first response and she will determine to rectify said threat or inconvenience until her anger is satiated and her emotions go away.
Siobhan's immediate affect is distant and her demeanor cold, but at the same time soft. She doesn't outwardly show her thuggish disregard for human life or any desire she might have to smash the head in of whoever is speaking to her, but communicates with few words and a snide remark, always quietly, in a soft, but deep tone. Agrarian and rescourceful, she knows how to live of the land and has an intricate knowledge of plants, animals and nature picked up from years of living in the wild. Despite never recieving proper schooling as a child, Siobhan is highly intelligent and well-spoken, but her common tongue is still fractured and she speaks with a thick accent. She enjoys many different topics, such as science, mathematics, magic and history.
Siobhan is polite and well-composed, with a very dry sense of humor. Frequently she is mistaken for being grumpy, boring or just a dork, but at the same time makes snide and indirect jokes, teasing those who think her joyless when they don't know she is joking the whole time. Though Siobhan always holds herself with severe discipline and rock-hard stoicism, she has a disposition for being eccentric and can be uhinged, in ways that are both terrifying or unintentionally cute.
In casual, pleasant conversation or when she is with people she trusts or genuinely likes, she can, and also enjoys being affectionate and sweet.
But Siobhan, to her core, isn't a lawless individual. She has a moral code, but they're her morals, or at least her idea of morals. If anybody happens to disagree with them or finds themselves outside of Siobhan's personal compass, that's just too bad.
She is not necessarily a lover and not a fighter. She's a lover who also likes to kill things. The loving part is just good for after the fight.
