“What are you?” The young woman asks as her arm was now shreading apart like paper, as what appeared to be light ran up her arm and started to spread over her body. The elven like figure with what appeared to be shattered light running across his face and arms smiles, his crystal-like eyes glowing blue, “You may call us Wraithengien.” He replies as the woman shattered into little light particles. Tears streaming from his e

The Wraithengien are born from a magic experiment that went too far in the ancient times. They were once people, people with families, pets, friends and most of all a mortal life. Their people were working with runes no one should have been working with and an accident happened. Wipping away much of the civilization in on deadly magical blast. But leaving those not as affected to live in eternal suffering. Forever bound to live throughout the years, watching their new loved ones grow old, while they do not. They only shed their old “skin” for a new one.

If you ask someone if they are one of these creatures, then they may decide to reply as no. But they may be or may not be one. Afterall their form is hidden under an aspect they make themselves. They might appear as someone completely different the next time they go through with the change.

They can look like anything they want when their new form “expires” from an elf, human, dragon. However only the more powerful one may become such beasts such as a dragon. If they are no in their formed bodies an are appearing as is, then assume that they are close to the end and will, within the next few lives, head back to their home city to become one with their First Bretheren.

——————-
Civilization:
Over the centuries the Wraiths have attained one goal, that is to allow all others to join their ranks. As immortal life forms of nothing but magic. This ideal is feuled by the First Brethren. The first if their kin and the originals that brought destruction on many more ancient civilizations. Those that fell to them are kept in the First City, a large sprawling city in the North that is all but hidden to those who know how to get to it. Here they are blinded by illusions and magic that makes them thing that they themselves are still in the mortal plane. Eating the best food, drinking the best wines. With their illusionary loved ones provided by the magic.
Those people are kept happy, but they will eventually disappear much like the First Lady, fed to the First Brethren to sustain their lives. Otherwise everyone lives in the First City. Unless you are one if the Brethren, then you are able to leave the city of “paradise”.

The First Brethren:
The First Brethren are the eldest of their race, forming new binds and ties with eachother as many ages came and went. As they were the original Wraiths that came from the experimnetations, they are the oldest, and strongest. Some stay in the First City, while others like Ashieron wander the world searching for others. Others to bring into their species, into their clan. Or looking for places to eliminate all humanoid life from and to absorb their power for their own within The First City.
