Appearance

For all intents and purposes, Roljkna is both as typical and as diverse as most rous ever get. Her coat's a mélange of several dull, uninspiring shades of colors and an unpretentiously rat-like face worsened with a torn and bloodied left ear at its lobe. Her only saving grace are those calculating amber eyes that, while beady and disconcerting to look at, carry a depth of intelligence in them that is usually far removed from the usual specimen of their kind.

Furthermore, what's lacking in physical virtues is oftentimes made up in what could be considered civilized politicking and apparel; especially when compared to the average rous' repertoire. The reason for the snazzy dressing came largely about as a result of her tribe's attempt to establish an isolated, self-contained culture unburdened by the admittedly shoddy standards of the underrealm's people.

For Roljkna it meant a belted gown underneath a checkered shawl so indigenous to many of the clans, tied in with plain dyed trousers and strapped sandals--all shaded to various hues of greys, browns, and greens. None of it was particularly impressive to a connoisseur of the aesthetics, but it suited the undemanding rous well enough throughout her days.

As for all the naysayers who claim Roljkna's parentage is suspect, a possum and a rat are essentially the same thing. It's also terribly unseemly to ask questions like that.

Skills and Abilities

Personality

An uncomplicated mind that is at times prevailed upon by good sense and humility. Not to say that her flaws stem from a lack in intellect, but instead a desire not to utilize that intelligence to complicate the carefully structured world in which most of her clan have lived in all their lives. This has the result of grooming into Roljkna a refined sense of pretentiousness, false superiority, and an impressive temper that comes and goes as quickly as a sea's gale.

Pride and custom dictate much of her life, and an outsider's opinion often means little more than a buzzing in the ear.

Biography & Lore

Roljakknabarvii Ahanabarvii Roljkna was first born Roljii Ahanabarvii, a pairing of a childhood name and the clan name, something always so studiously upheld. There was no sense of family except for the tribe, all such personal social ties that could have existed were soon obliterated by the relatively customary practice of rearing the women and children in common; meaning that even the smallest youth was a sister or brother, and the most venerable rous was a grandparent whose advice was often sought after and prized. Her full name of Roljakknabarvii was provided upon reaching adulthood, for it meant that she was of their people without reservation. Had not died in her youth due to one wasting illness or another.

As for 'Roljkna', it is a name typically only spoken for the convenience of anyone outside of this closely knitted family unit, oftentimes due to the sole fact that outsiders are rarely accorded the respect of conceding the entirety of a deeply personal tribal name.

As well as for many of the youths in their village who (understandably) appreciate the practicality of a shorthand.

By the time she had earned all this, it was already long accompanied by the varying duties required from every member of their small tribe. These were largely small, mundane things that all had to contribute towards; such as washing and tending their linen, lending repairs to the surprisingly sophisticated network of roads and architecture of their small kingdom under the earth, as well as looking after the younger ones.

The latter did indeed sometimes take a village.

The rest of her duties often didn't bear thinking about to an outsider. Their culture was a hideously violent one, made so by the territorial disputes and an allocation of resources decided only by who was sneakier and cleverer. As the way it was, as it would always seem to be.
