Born originally in the Kingdom of Alven and it's capital of the same name, Renn was the son of one of the most prominent Lords of the Land. Having a distinctive and friendly relationship with the King, Rodrigo D'Narro was one of the most trusted and powerful figures in the whole Kingdom.

This quickly came to an end after a disastrous battle which Rodrigo unfortunately was in charge of.

Whether it was due to actions of his own or those of his subordinates was never quite clear, but the battles loss nearly caused the collapse of the entire Kingdom. Though this was narrowly avoided due to clever dealings by the Kings inner circle, Rodrigo's reputation and political capital all but disappeared.

Thankfully, the elder D'Narro narrowly managed to escape execution. Though many in higher politics all but despised him now, Rodrigo was still beloved by the commoners and general soldiers of the army. It was through their pleading that the old General was instead sent to exile rather than the executioners block.

When Rodrigo went, so of course did his wife and young song.

The family took up residence on the borders of the Kingdom near the western shores of the Gulf of Ryt and within sight of the great mountains of the spine. Here they were entrusted with guarding the Kingdom against incursions from the East.

It was here that Renn grew up, on the edges of the Kingdom within his fathers shame. Despite that fact the young man never took up hate in his heart, either for his father or the King that had 'betrayed' him. Instead he worked with a fanatic idealism, believing that through training, diligence, and perhaps hints of delusion he could reclaim his families glory.

From a young age he trained long days, studied even longer, and did his best to become the Knight that his father had once been.

When he turned eighteen Renn took up a role in the defense of the Kingdom, and his father passed down the families sword to him. Starting as a squire within smaller war parties and working his way up until eventually he was granted a small force of his own.

Though the Band is hardly as well outfitted as any other army in Alven, the small Cadre of Viaran soldiers are all incredibly resourceful and committed to their goal. For the last year they have waged a steady campaign against a small band of orcs crossing the Strait of Ryt, a force that seemingly only continues to grow as Molthal looks east.
