Biography & Lore
Melain Renther, known to his friends as "Melly", was born to his mother Tia and father Brendol. Growing up in Fal'Addas, Melain learned to carry himself with dignity and pride. His mother was especially proud of making the pilgrimage to Fal'Addas, and his father was happy he convinced her to stay. Stars aligned, Melain was the golden child. He was the product of his family finally settling in Fal'Addas.Melly had been getting into trouble from a young age, however. His father was a shoemaker and his mother was a seamstress, nothing extraordinary but Melly did not want to be either of those things. Growing up, he trained to ride horses, he fenced, he trained in Elven martial arts, and he told his father he wanted to attend an Officer's Academy.
In the academy, Mel learned traditional combat techniques with a multitude of weapons, and his 8 year stint in Officer's Academy landed him a fairly moderate ranking within the Fal'Addas military. However, fearing leaving his mother and his home behind, he declined, and instead became a city guard. After decades of serving, and eventually becoming a high value security detail for businessmen and noblemen, he had learned the ways of street survival from his more seedy clients, making him question his faith in the city guard and city of Fal'Addas itself, after witnessing some vile acts.
Jaded, Mel returned home to take care of his now ill mother and father, who seemed to fall ill one after the other. He took care of them for months, in a slow, long, traumatizing process of watching his parents die in front of him. After months of that, he decided that Fal'Addas was nothing but misfortune for him, and he has gathered his parent's ashes to take along with him as he leaves the Elven homeland.
