HUROG BRINEPIKE
Hurog was abandoned in the gutter. He has little in the way of memory before Barissoud found him, just a general malaise of the soul that he could never identify. That said, he found life on the Vagabond Star hard and brutal but Barissoud raised him better than any who might have been burdened with raising a half orc. Hurog is strong, resilient, cunning and wise for his kind. Life aboard the Star has made him gruff but fair, capable of brutality but loyal to his crew. He is an accomplished sailor, deadly with the harpoon and wields his gaff hook like the sickle claw of some fiendish landborne predator.
Powerfully built, with an almost supernatural endurance and resilience from decades of toil on the Star, with a strength to match makes him a terrifying brawler, something he likes to partake in street fights for money and prestige whenever ashore, his body a chessboard of scars from his exploits.
Appearance
Tall, broadly built, aged by salt and sun, his head bald but his beard full and impressive, dark grey in colour and in morality. He wears simple sailors attire, keeps himself moderately clean. His wrinkles, highlighted by salty sweat and grime from sand and oils making his face a criss cross of expressions both crow footed and marred by angry lines that lead some to think him cruel and aggrieved when in fact he is either mirthful or gruff.

An exceptional harpooner and deft with his gaff hook, a savage brawler but fair and fierce in equal measure,. Skilled sailor and a powerful swimmer.

Biography & Lore
If Barissoud would be his father, The Vagabond Star would certainly be his mother. He has grown from a scrawny welp to a burly, oft ill tempered but good humoured tank. He knows the Star as well as any child would know the woman that bore him, for every brace he finds the lines of a mother's hands, the sails a mother's dress and petticoats and when laid in his hammock, the arms of a mother rocking her favourite to sleep. He loves the ship more than any, other than his father. Those that sail with him are brothers and sisters and those he befriends are no less than kin.
Named by Barissoud after a former orc shipmate and close friend, Hurog remained simply that. After hearing a cursed insult to harpooneers he took the very name Brinepike as his own.
