Biography & Lore
Erudwën was born into the frost-covered lands of the Eretejva Tundra, where a Snow Elf witch coven thrived amidst the unforgiving cold. Her mother, known as Asewën, held a position of importance within the coven, revered for her mastery of elemental magic and her deep connection to the ancient arts. Erudwën grew up in awe of her mother's power and dreamed of a prestigious position within the coven.
However, tragedy struck when a bitter rivalry unfolded within the coven's sacred halls. Asewën, in a fit of madness and jealousy, murdered Isold, a highly esteemed member of the coven. The murder sent shockwaves through the tightly-knit community, shattering trust and plunging the coven into chaos. The witches once united in their pursuit of wisdom and harmony, turned on Asewën with fury and disdain.
In the midst of this turmoil, Erudwën found herself caught between her love for her mother and the demands of the coven. The coven, overcome with grief and anger, declared Asewën an outcast, forever exiling her and Erudwën from their ranks. The young elf, only beginning to understand the magnitude of her mother's actions, was thrust into a world of isolation and uncertainty. Her greater Fate ripped from her.
As they ventured out into the cold wastes, Erudwën and Asewën sought refuge in an abandoned Cerulean elf lair nestled amidst the snow-covered mountains overlooking what is now known as the Blood Lake. In this desolate place, Erudwën's mother began teaching her the ancient and forbidden arts of blood magic. Asewën believed that by delving into the dark recesses of magic, she could find a way to reclaim their lost status and seek retribution against those who had cast them aside.
Under her mother's tutelage, Erudwën's natural affinity for magic blossomed. The elven blood flowing through her veins endowed her with a graceful command of the arcane, as well as an uncanny ability to manipulate the life essence coursing through living beings. With her growing mastery of blood magic, Erudwën discovered the power to control, manipulate, and ultimately extinguish the lives of others through Runic Arcana.
But the tragic events and isolation had taken their toll on Erudwën's fragile psyche. Bitterness and anger intertwined within her heart, morphing her into a twisted creature haunted by a deep-seated desire for revenge. The slow descent into murder began in search of higher knowledge, expanding her abilities.
As Erudwën claimed the lives of her victims, she revelled in the power she gained from their spilt blood. The life force she harvested fuels her own abilities, heightens her magical prowess and drives her further down the path of uncertainty. In some parts of the Tundra, locals talk of the "Witch of the Frozen Wastes," and the chilling stories that come as a consequence of her betrayal by the coven.
