Am’thet the Gem
Appearance
Although quite muscular, she's also quite thin, thin enough where her ribs easily imprint on her figure when she doesn't eat for a while. Regardless, she's quite fit and covered in scars, scratches, and bruises. Most noticeable, is the large scar on her nostrils, stretching from the ridge of her nostrils down to her top lip. As for attire, she's almost always wearing some form of armor, usually a chainmail cuirass. When she isn't wearing armor, she wears a simple brown robe.
Skills and Abilities
Am'Thet is an extremely skilled warrior, virtually a master of the spear and largely proficient with a vast array of weaponry, she's a force to reckon with. Combined with her cunning intellect and charismatic leadership, she's been able to forge a successful career as a Raid Leader/Raid Master. Due to being educated during her slave years and her own studies as a member of the Crimson Tahk, Am'Thet managed to greatly improve both her understanding of common and her ability to speak. While she's able to communicate vast arrays of information via common tongue, her own voice is quite guttural and serpentine, making her kinda hard to understand to those not listening closely. Nonetheless, she's dedicated herself to learning common tongue and being able to speak it as well. Due to being a member of the Crimson Tahk, she can use telepathy, allowing her to receive and transmit thoughts regardless of what language the other is speaking. However, she currently isn't very good at telepathy. She also has the ability to shapeshift, being able to change the colors of her scales.
Am’thet also possesses the species traits for the Naga, which can be found on their page, including their weaknesses.
Personality
Brash and defiant, yet intelligent and even charismatic, her personality is quite a bombshell. Whilst she can be quite kind to others, she can just as easily change gears. What stands out the most about her is her fervent nationalism and belief in the creation of a unified state of the Naga people.
Biography & Lore
Born to a warrior family, Am'Thet seemed destined to become a warrior like her ancestors before her. Born and briefly raised on a small coastal village, she was taught to be a warrior alongside her brothers and sisters. She excelled during her training and was often praised by others, fostering respect, admiration, and envy among her peers.
At the age of four, her village was experiencing overpopulation, so several members of her village, including her parents, volunteered to ship out and set up a new colony. The next day, they shipped out, taking Am'Thet and many of her peers with them. After several months at sea, they finally found suitable and remote land where they can settle, and thus, a new colony was born. Unfortunately, this colony wouldn't last long.
After only a few months of existence, around when Am'Thet turned 5, a scouting party discovered the colony. Relaying their findings to a local official, a mostly human army was assembled to deal with the colony. A few days later, the army attacked during the dead of night, under the watchful eyes of a full moon. The army achieved complete surprise, managing to kill the majority of the elders before they could take up arms, her parents among them. Those that were able to grab their weapons were soon cut down by the numerical superiority of the army. Within hours, the colony was completely destroyed and ransacked. Those who resisted were executed, the rest were enslaved, Am'Thet among them.
Am'Thet and 25 others were sent to a military outpost near the coast to serve as manual labor, building fortifications to defend against Naga incursions. Upon arriving at the outpost, the commanding officer, whether out of pity or lust, decided to make Am'Thet his personal servant. For the next two years, Am'Thet would serve this man, however, it did come with it's benefits. During her time as a slave, the officer decided to teach Am'Thet in an effort to try to civilize her. He taught her about history, government, religion, war, technology, and most importantly how to read and write common tongue. To his surprise, Am'Thet took well to his efforts and was quite the dutiful student herself. During this period of her life, she was renamed to Katherine Liev by the officer, presumably to try to make her more civilized. A few weeks after she turned seven, riots broke out in the outpost. A Naga slave had strangled a soldier to death and then was promptly executed. Soon afterwards fighting broke out in the outpost, eventually escalating into riots. Eventually, the garrison was overpowered, and then killed, but it was at quite a cost. Out of the 70 Naga slaves working at the camp, only 17 survived, including Am'Thet. The only survivor of the garrison was the commanding officer himself.
After the revolt ended, Am'Thet rallied the survivors, looted the armory, and then set out into the wilderness. For the next year, Am'Thet and her gang wandered aimlessly, pillaging anything in their path. Eventually though, the group was picked up by Naga raiders from the Zacinjena Zmija tribe and ferried back to their homeland. From there, Am'Thet bought a ship and rallied her followers, once again setting out to begin a successful career as a Raid Leader/Raid Master. After two years of a successful career as a rouge Raid Leader/Raid Master, Am'Thet joined the Crimson Tahk and was given a position in the Imperial Navy as a "privateer". Upon joining the ranks of the Crimson Tahk, Am'Thet was given her current name. Am'Thet is named after a beautiful Nagaish gemstone, due to the way her scales gleamed in the light.
