Skills and Abilities

Divine Magics:

The long dark: Able to control a type of dark energy that is summoned from her black book. It drains energy from souls and life energy to feed its power, able to act almost like a liquid it can form whips, tentacles, pointed spears and even a thick dome like shield if needed. basically the more souls she collects and the more living energy around her she allows it to consume the more powerful it becomes. However separation from her tome besides physical pain, and emotional stress, will instantly cause the darkness to vanish.

Healing magic: can preform most common healing spells for flesh wounds, light injuries, and some poisons, but for serious illnesses, high tier poisons or deadly injuries, a living thing is required. the worse the injury the larger the animal up to requiring human sacrifice if the persons close to death.

Necromancy: speaking with spirits of any willing, but must linger. any spirits that pass into an afterlife are not reachable. requires the blood and hair of the individual to be reached and requires Luna to cut her left hand and sacrifice her own blood as well. the longer the summoning the more her wound will bleed into the circle.

Physical:

Archery: Is a fair hunter when survival calls for it.

Sword fighting: good enough to take a couple of untrained bandits, but would easily be outclassed by even a slightly skilled swordsmen.

Aura of Fear and Decay: Those around her feel unease and deep seeded dread for a few moments after entering her AOE.

Spirit Walk: By allowing her god to take control of her body she can fight much better but her mortal body can only handle it for short amount of time anywhere from a minute to an hour at most, and when done she loses consciousness with no vital signs for up to 3 days. depending on how long she uses it.

Time of prayer: after prayer she gains a good bit of vitality depending on how long her prayer is and the amount of ritual sacrifices for her deity.

Personality
Luna can seem cynical and a bit unfeeling, but underneath is a real care and loyalty for those who have earned her trust. She is very reserved in most conversations meaning anything she says has usually been thought out four to five times before she says it. She is also quiet content with being alone and due to her nomadic behavior and quiet nature is almost considered a legend. Luna has no prejudice against any particular race, but her hatred for pirates, slavers and raiders transcends races.

Biography & Lore

Luna was a talented mage born of an elf and a human living and learning in Fal' Addas. After the death of her parents at the hands of raiders she began trying to find a way to bring them back, after being disowned by her teacher for her reckless research and practices it was during her research of a particularly dark scroll that she first heard the call of Bastellen, A deity known for transference, deals, bloodshed and trickery, as it whispered to her, she followed until she came to a small forgotten temple deep in the mountains around Khazar. its here where she found the thick black tome she carries with her always, on a stone pedestal next to a black steel sword. As the whispers told her to take both and almost in a trance she did so, and as both touched her skin the book glowed burning away her memories and a brand of life into her right hand, and a brand of death on her left in the language of the old tongue. She then found herself confused and the whispers saying she would be unable to leave until she swore her life and soul to Bastellen ,and signed a pact for her survival etched into the archway with her blood drawn by cutting her palm on the sword.

It was there in the temple that for decades with the help of the tome and the whispers of her newly found master she learned her healing magic, enough sword play and archery (mostly for light self defense and hunting for food.) along with the rituals and doctrine of Bastellen. Not much is known about Luna after she left the temple before she was found outside a village in the Eretejva Tundra, half dead wrapped in the robes of a priestess of some long forgotten religion with a black steel short sword and ancient looking bow and her black tome.
Some say she came from Vel Anir others say Alliria and others still say Elbion. In all fairness even Luna herself doesn't truly remember anything before the temple, however she does remember the last place she was. Cerak At'Thulv. Even a single utterance of the name can render her pale and shaken, she still sees flashes of the dark fortress in her dreams, and remembers being sold as a slave there. Whether the ship wrecked or she escaped not even Luna knows, but she never the less tries to forget as much as she can all the same.
The black leather tome she carries seems to give any who see it a deep sense of distrust and foreboding against her and anyone else around them.

Due to this coupled with their mistrust of outsiders in general the townspeople met her with much distrust in the beginning, but she studied to understand their own religion and soon took a small role as a priestess of The Pale King as well as showing her usefulness as a healer and her generally reserved and quiet nature as a priestess aided her in keeping out of any trouble.

They cautiously warmed to her over the years as she to them even if still distant, and built simply on the fact that she rarely came any more than once a month in the dead of night. It wasn't long. Less than a day after being found she realized she wasnt welcome and left the village to roam the tundras outside the city. Her master called her to the shrine. Hidden in the snow and isolated this tribute to Bastellen stood with a small cabin where she lived. People could come for healing or shelter if they wish as many random strangers are not welcome to the city proper. She was a free inn of sorts they could point to when telling unknown travelers to piss off.. She returns to the village occasionally once every one to two months in the dead of night to sell potions and pelts to shop keeps for small amounts of gold to buy any supplies she cant grow or hunt for herself. due to the quality of her pelts and potions and her extremely generous pricing for both the few people who spoke and dealt with her like her enough if not enjoy her slightly.....slightly. She is known to leave her shrine following the call of her master to many different places. As he leads her on some quest to what end Luna doesnt know or care. Her life is his.
