Auran
Appearance
Auran casts a ghostly visage to those who see them, with a blue and greenish glow that's very much reminiscent of ponds or grasses. A plume of glowing hair resembling grasses moving or leaves floating in the wind. Occasionally, a spectral butterfly will escape its confines within Auran's hair, flying forth from it's depths before evaporating into the air shortly after. Auran's figure is unnaturally slender, due in part to being a part of the naturally quite skinny Pallexpri and from being enslaved. The Pallexpri often wears simple clothes, typically using rags or bits of cloth, which allow for free movement needed for life in the Ixchel Wilds. It can also be seen that iron shackles adorn Auran's wrists and ankles, broken off from the rest of their chains. Needless to say, Auran tends to stick out rather evidently in a crowd.
Skills and Abilities
Auran is skilled in using a spear, able to utilize it to great efficiency in combat. Couple this with their natural agility and light step, and Auran is a difficult opponent in melee combat at full strength. In addition, Auran is particularly skilled in Druidic based magic, able to call upon nature herself to entangle or attack foes. Their forest spirit heritage has left them with an affinity for it, allowing for slightly stronger magics and spells to be used than a regularly taught student would.
Directing to a more noncombative array of skills, Auran is particularly knowledgeable on matters relating to the forests and jungles, such as poisonous herbs or how to track down certain animals to hunt. Auran can also speak Common (albeit it can be a bit flawed or broken) and Exprian, the language of Pallexpri, communicating through a very limited version of telepathy.

Personality
Due largely in part to Auran's previous experiences, Auran can be rather jumpy or overly cautious, especially around humans. This paranoia can manifest either in hiding, or if there is no other option, a fight. However, once somebody has established their trustworthiness, Auran will reveal themselves to be a considerate and protective soul. Auran is naturally quite introspective and intuitive, able to read a person very well.
Biography & Lore
A member of the mysterious Pallexpri race, Auran is descended from the forest spirits of the Eldyr Tree, refugees from the terror caused by the races of man. Living most of their existence within the forests of the Ixchel Wilds, Auran spent most of their time hunting and gathering alone, only occasionally interacting with the occasional traveller or Pallexpri. However, this picturesque and quiet existence changed dramatically due to a chance encounter. A group of slavers, most of which were human although there were some other races mixed in, had come through the Wilds. After some time of walking through the woods, they stopped and set up camp. Nearby and ever oblivious to the intentions of outsiders, Auran revealed the self to the group and gifted them some fruits and berries created using their magic. However, the group of slavers saw a better opportunity in front of them than simple berries. After all, forest spirits were renown for the powerful properties contained within their bodies.
While Auran fought bravely, the Pallexpri was unarmed and caught off-guard by the group. Soon, Auran was shackled and enslaved. No amount of moving or fighting back could help the situation, not being severely outnumbered and weakened by a lack of food. The slavers continued their trek, perhaps for days, weeks, or even a month.
Finally, a chance, no, a hope, shined through as an opportunity for escape made itself clear. Quickly, Auran made their escape. Now, out into the open plains of an unfamiliar world, no longer within the safety of the familiar Wilds, where will Auran go and who will they meet?
From the journal of a traveller, known to have survived a trek through the Ixchel Wilds,
I felt my stomach turn in on itself as I made that journey through the Ixchel Wilds, the berries around me taunting me to go on and eat them. I knew better though, I knew little of the insects that prowler the ground and plants, clogging the air with wings. I continued walking, clutching my stomach in a way that was not very discreet, and I knew I didn't have long left. Somewhere along the way, I heard a twig snap through the rain. I twisted around to make sure there wasn't some predator stalking me. Contrary to those original expectations, I came face to face with no such predator. However, I did come face to face with a creature that can only be considered a forest spirit like old fairy tales told stories of. I heard a smooth voice enter my mind, saying something in a language I could never decipher myself. It looked a tad bit disappointed at my lack of understanding, instead a holding a hand to the nearby dirt. Within a few moments, a surge of shrubbery burst from the ground, filled with ripe berries. As if to prove their health, the creature picked one from the bush and ate it, motioning for me to do the same. Desperate in my hunger, I took as many as I could. After I finished my gorging on the berries, I watched as the creature walked away without a word, off to wherever it may find next. Perhaps these berries will not last me my journey, and perhaps it isn't enough to let me survive, but at the very least it has allowed me to live to see another day.
