Amir Shahbazliq
Taagi Baara Steppes
(The Steppe Elves)
Nick-Named Shahbazliq ("The Eagleling") by the denizens of Ragash, this Steppe Elf Princeling turned Nomadic Mercenary, serves The Empire of Amol-Kalit as an Amir ("Commander"), on one of many, in charge of the Empire's Nomadic Mercenaries; known collectively as Yal'Hazaram ("The Thousands").
Long ago, he had a true name, not given by his Imperial Masters, once he was named by his people as: Alp Tezig, the Atabeg ("Grand Prince") of the Aq'Yilani Ogush ("White Serpent Stallion tribe") of the Steppe Elves of the Taagi Baara Steppes or in their tongue, Onoq Kishig ("The Ten Arrow People").
Betrayal, a failed rebellion, fatricide, and a long march into exile, led him away from his people and into servitde of the Yal'Hazaram. But one day, Amir Shahbazliq will find his way back and with a force great enough to reforge his tribe's lost hegemony in the Steppe; and then the realms will rumble with the sounds of vengeful hooves.

Biography & Lore
ORIGINS
Amir Shahbazliq was born in 252 AC as Alp Tezig ("Gallant Swift") Qaratygid to the Qaratygid Clan within the Aq'Yilani Ogush of the Onoq Kishig; or as the rest of Arethil call them: The Steppe Elves. The Onoq Kishig - meaning: The Ten Arrow Peoples - is a loose tribal confederation of elvish nomad pastoralist horse lords from the Taagi Baara Steppes, whom are broken up into ten major tribes - known as Ogush; one of which being the Aq'Yilani ("White Serpent Stallion") Ogush. Within the Aq'Yilani, the Qaratygids ("the Black Feathers") served as the tribe's Atabeg's ("Grand Princes") for long generations.
When Alp Tezig was born, the Aq'Yilani were in the midst of a long multi-century bloodfeud with another major tibe, the Qulagaichi ("the Black Thieves"), a dangerous Ogush led by a sorcerous Atabeg called: Doghuqan ("Eastern Blood"). The two Ogush would often engage in violent raids, hostage taking, and concubinage swaps. When Alp Telzig was only a child, in Elvish years, in his 30's, his father and eldest brothers were all slain by Doghuqan. His mother was forced to become a concubine of Doghuqan and Alp Tezlig became a servile step-son. For decades after, Alp Tezlig succumbed to his new role, until he led a rebellion in his 50's; hoping to slay his step-brothers and Doghuqan. He failed and nearly escaped execution.
In exile, Alp Tezig first became a nomadic bodyguard for the Dwarvish Merchant Lords, known as the Amakhshapad ("The Wagonmasters"), of the Caravan Roads that pass across all of Arethil. He would serve the Amakhshapad Dwarves for a decade before making his way by caravan to The Empire of Amol-Kalit and Ragash in his 60's.
AMIR SHAHBAZLIQ YAL'HAZARAM
Alp Tezig arrived in Ragash well before Gerra of Molthal's conquest of the city at the Battle of Ninagal in 369 A.C. For fifty years before then, he served the Shah of Ragash in his servile Lashkar ("Army"). The Lashkar were commanded by a cohort of Amir ("Commanders") who in turn were all commanded by the Amir Yal'Umara ("Commander of Commanders"). Within Lashkar, specifically, Alp Tezig was placed in the Yal'Hazaram ("The Thousands") - so called because it was boasted to be made up of "A Thousand Different Peoples".
Over the decades, Alp Tezig rose from a lowly servile cavalryman, a Mamluke, up to the Amir of his own cadre mercenary cavalrymen; even achieving the command of Amir Yal'Hazari Asawira ("Commander of a Thousand Cavalry"). In time, he also changed culturally and personally, adopting more and more Ragashan culture to assimilate into his new life and command. He took a new Ragashan name, Shahbazliq ("Eageling") - so named because of his warging powers which allowed him to commune and possess his companion dire-eagle, Myamchi Khatun ("Harpy Queen").
