Amaryllis Caomhanach
Appearance
Amaryllis is tall with a slender and curved build. Her long waist-length hair was once a sapphire blue, but has since become black; on the same token, her skin lost much of its peachy color in favor of a pale, yet not altogether unpleasing complexion with a slight tinge of blue. Her red eyes hold the secrets of a cunning intellect paired with a gentle nature. The naiad wears a flowy black gown that fits loosely, but tastefully on her body.
Skills and Abilities
Where once was natural healing and brilliance now is a vampiric taint. Amaryllis is still capable of healing and assisting others, however, in exchange for increased potency, her magic requires a larger amount of magical energy, and to get this energy, her body saps the magical energy of other beings close to her. This "Mana Thirst" is more potent the closer to the naiad one is, but Amaryllis has managed to gain some semblance of control over when she saps energy - the threat of losing control over herself and her powers ever looms over Amaryllis.
Her Mana vampirism can be directed towards healing and supportive effects, or the more harmful and malicious powers those of darker tastes might covet. The game of "Take and Give" that Amaryllis plays is a deadly dance of a constant transfer of energy. If she uses her abilities, she slowly becomes more tired, and using them too much may kill her. However, she can offset this by sapping the energy from those around her - decreasing their reserves to supplement her own. However, doing this too much can both harm those she takes from and eventually overload her essence with power and kill her.
In brief technical terms, she unconsciously saps magical energy from others and uses it to fuel her own abilities, but doing so can cause great harm to those around her and even greater harm to herself. Consciously using and directing this transference of energy can provide more powerful effects, but also comes at greater risk.

Personality
Amaryllis has always been something of a gentle soul. Before her sickness, she would often interact with mortals and other creatures with a happy gait. She enjoyed the company and interaction with others in what was otherwise a fairly solitary existence. Slow to anger, but quick to correct, Amaryllis has always held a particular preference for mediation and diplomatic solutions, but is capable of defending herself or others if need be.
These days, Amaryllis is paranoid about herself. Due to the nature of her eldritch disease, simply being in close proximity with her can sap one's magical energy - often quite dangerous to those who rely on such energy to survive. She strives to control the strange amalgamation of her power so as to minimize such risk and maximize the potential usefulness it has.

Biography & Lore
Amaryllis is a naiad - a nymph of springs and falls. Her particular spring is a crystal blue beauty that sits deep within the green depths of the Issylian Forest. Amaryllis was often praised for her exceptionally powerful healing abilities; she would often provide both physical and emotional support with her magic as damage can be both of a physical and internal nature. She has been approached by both courts of the Fey world, but she has remained insistent on her neutrality in this "silly farce of sides", and she prioritizes assisting those who need her help over using her skills for personal gain.
Relatively recently, the spring to which Amaryllis was connected was tainted with a dark taint whose origin was yet unknown to her. This taint caused her to become increasingly ill in a mostly physical fashion. However, the potency of her magic and the magical state of the taint clashed - eventually mutating into something both powerful and frightening. Not only did her appearance change in certain ways - the darker hair and paler skin along with the red eyes - but her magic became something that Amaryllis struggles to come to terms with. Where she once gave freely of her healing prowess and magical abilities, this purpose has been twisted to take the magical energy of others as they come into close proximity with her. This "Magical Vampirism" frightens Amaryllis, and she has become somewhat aloof since the change in her nature.
Despite the changes within her, Amaryllis strives to control her dangerous power and find a way to reverse the effects on both her and her home.
