Theoderic Wanderfoot
Being a Halfling, Theoderic is not one to travel far without good reason, much preferring his larder and warm hearth than the cold and danger of the open roads. However given enough time for preparation, he has been known to go on an adventure or two in search of magical artefacts.
Personality
Preferring his own company most of the time, the halfling man does however, enjoy the odd spot of adventure or shenanigans if the outcome seems to be in his favour. He is mistrustful of strangers, much preferring to keep to himself. He spends most of his evenings either writing stories, cooking simple but delicious meals for himself, or sitting on his favourite garden chair puffing on his pipe as the moon rises over his quiet little hamlet.
When underway however, he is brave, stubborn and understated. He has a pure heart and tries to do the best by those he knows or works with.
Theoderic is a keen historian and collector, his hole being home to one of the most comprehensive collections of Allirian historical tomes in the area. He has a keen eye for expensive trinkets and boasts an extensive collection of supposedly magical amulets, scrolls, circlets and other items which he keeps safely inside another magical artefact, the Deeply Rooted Tree of Safekeeping. This monstrous tree grows atop his hole, its roots twisting through the halls and rooms, inside its hollow is Theoderics prized collection.
Skills and Abilities
Small: Theoderic is small and thus is able to sneak around much more easily than regular sized beings. He is easy to overlook and slight of hand, a train that has assisted him in his adventures in the past.Collector: The handling usually makes sure to take a few useful artefacts with him on his adventures, small items that are individually not very powerful, but when used in the right circumstances, can overcome great odds.
Eating: Theoderic loves food and thus always has a large hamper of food ready at a moments notice. His adventures usually require several stops throughout the day in observation of the many meals halflings have.
Magical Oddities: Theo has collected an extensive amount of magical devices, amulets and oddities. Whilst many are stored safety in his hole, he does bring a few exceptionally useful items with him on adventures in order to defend himself or escape dangerous situations.
Magic
Theoderic does not partake, or claim to partake in the uncouth and concerning practice of magic. It is seem, in his small hamlet, as a profane and annoying topic only pursued by fools, idiots and halfwits who are responsible for expensive problems.Theo does not broadcast however, that he has a large collection of magical oddities and amulets stored within his hole, it is known only to other collectors, historians and a select few in the local lords court. These items are individually not entirely powerful, but when used together or at the right time, have gotten Theo out of several troubling situations.
Appearance
Theo is average for a halfling at just over 3 feet. He is a wide, stocky individual with large hairy feet and overgrown mutton chops and hair, framing his weathered, chubby face. He has piercing blue eyes and stumpy arms and legs. He is usually seen puffing away on the chair outside his hole, however when on an adventure of some sort he is usually wearing an oversized rucksack stuffed with odd items and food.He carries a small, silver blade with an ornate handle and an even smaller curved knife, both in scabbards on his belt.
Biography
Theoderic spent many of his years learning of the history of his local land, of the great wonders and wars that had been carried out, and how the world came to be how it is now. In his younger years he spent much of his time learning, in his middle years he adventured from time to time and through his wit and intellect, amassed a great collection of historical tomes. In his later years he began researching and collecting magical items, keeping them safely stored in the great tree over his hole.He now sets out on a new adventure, having finished his most recent book "A Night with a Naga", grown restless in recent years.
