A gift from the people of Knottington to one of their saviors, to assist him in his travels.
History
Background
After the defense of Knottington, the Blacksmiths came together to produce a weapon as a parting gift for one of their saviors, Arnor Skuldsson. Around the base of the handle and on the blade carries inscriptions of thanks from the various well-to-do people of Knottington, and the seals of the various Blacksmiths that helped create it.
A divine magic blessed Axe, with the requirement that Arnor must return to the town of Knottington.
Lore
Created from the timber of the burnt out ruins, and made with finely-tempered steel, the axe is about as sturdy and practical as they come- but carries with it a Cleric's blessing, and with that, a particular effect- as with all blessed, and magical things, it carries with it, a price. To retain it's blessing, the Axe must be carried back to Knottington, to where the Naga Champion that Arnor slain fell, once every five winters. Without it- it's a regular axe with nice engravings on it.
While it's blessing is retained, the axe will not only have the effect of getting hit with an axe, as was the cause of the Naga invasion, ultimately, but also will burn through them with righteous fury. Curiously, also, the axe itself is tied to Arnor's life, unbeknownst to Arnor. If Arnor falls, the Axe loses it's power. As such with the blessing, if Arnor hits anyone else with the axe- it hits them like any other axe would. But even pressing it to an undead's skin will cause a searing burning sensation, as if the blade had just been freshly pulled from the forge.

There was always a fire. Best way to open up an attack on a place like this. And best way to ruin his drink. He was south of the spine, just shy of it. And the village he was in, Knottington- he thought, at least- was on fire. Women and men screaming in the distance, silenced now and again by...
