Sol Minerva is a popular courtesan and alchemist among the Alliria elite. She is most known for her vivacious personality, beautiful appearance, and her love for interesting things and—in particular—people. She has attended many significant events and befriended or frequently entertain several important people within the community.
It is rumored that she intends to sleep her way into favor (if not marriage) of one or more members of the Merchant’s Council, though those closer to her know she has more noble pursuits.

She was born in the Outer City of Alliria near the Areck Slums. Her father was a poor fisherman and her mother worked as a laundress and kept the house. She had two younger sisters by the time she was five, when her father decided to bring her on an extended fishing trip. When they returned, the rest of the family had fallen ill and only Sol’s mother continued to live. Sol’s father cared for his wife until her death some days later, resulting in him acquiring the fever. He put Sol into the care of his shipmate should he not survive the disease and he did not.
Sometime later, the man and his family decided to sell Sol Minerva as a slave in the Inner City for extra coin, knowing her beauty would make her a highly desirable purchase to slavers. It was at one of the several markets in the city where she was discovered and paid for by a wealthy brothel madame known as Lady Charlotte. She lived and worked in the luxurious brothel called The Lotus as a chambermaid until she was old enough to become a courtesan. Throughout her childhood, she used what free time she was granted to expand her knowledge in alchemy, which had originally been introduced to her by her mother, and sold remedies on the streets to gain more income.
Upon becoming of age, Sol became one of the most sought-after courtesans in The Lotus and was given her own apartments there as a reward for her earnings. Her exposure to both the most affluent company in Alliria and its commonfolk had granted her many lessons and opportunities in the social world and she used them to her advantage to gain influence and popularity among tradesmen and patrons alike.
When Sol is not entertaining special company, she can be found crafting and selling her remedies from within her residence, wandering the streets of the Inner City, or visiting one of its many fine shops and establishments. Occasionally she will venture out of the city in search of ingredients for her potions.
Her aspiration is to accumulate more wealth and power, ultimately for the freedom she believes they grant her, and—though she has no inherent desire to manipulate people or cause harm to anything—will go to great lengths to acquire them, often putting her in difficult and strange situations.

She usually maintains a clean, high quality, and richly decorated appearance that often reveals most of her figure. In formal settings, she opts for a more modest look that still displays her fine tastes. She particularly favors gold jewelry and rarely puts her waist-length, straight hair up. She is ambitious, outgoing, free-spirited, materialistic, proud, and can be outspoken.
