Reese the Fire Fox
Appearance
Reese is a member of the Zorren race. A subspecies of elves that resemble wolves or foxes. As a result, you can often find them with ears and tails to match, as well as long, sharp nails and long canines. They also have an extra set of joints in their legs, which allow for quadrupedal travel.
Reese carries all these traits, though her ears seem a bit longer and more fox-like, compared to her fellow Zorrens. She spots a fluffy fox tail as well, all of which are extremely soft to the touch. Her hair, a beautiful fiery autumn red. Something that pairs with her golden glowing eyes, that change color and due based on her emotions. Though she could learn to control such, it is often difficult for her to do so, since more of her focus is spent on controlling her flames.
Reese has a rather slender, petite form, much like your usual elves. Due to her Zorren blood, it does allow for some additional muscle mass, which helps shape her out and provide some curves for the young girl, though malnourishment has left her fairly small. Her skin is fair and soft to the touch, much like her fur. She has pretty features, which led in part to why she was such a prized slave. Her body has a few scars from abuse, shackles and burns. The most notable ones being around her neck, wrists and ankles. There is also some scarring around the inside of her mouth and throat, from when a sorcerer sadistically turned her fire against her, burning and healing her over and over. Something that damaged her vocal cords, which is partly why her voice is so quiet and she doesn't howl like the rest of her kin. The last notable feature is that she has rosy red lips and tribal markings on her cheeks, that were passed down from her tribe when she was young.

Luminancy
Personality
Reese's eyes and pyromancy are directly linked to her emotions. Her eyes will change color based on how she feels and her fire will take on various traits, behavior, or even become uncontrollable and devastating.
Reese is a quiet and timid creature. Often keeping to herself and finding it difficult to trust others, due to her harsh upbringing. She generally keeps her head low, ears back and even will recoil when reached for. When she speaks she tends to use a softer tone, which can make it difficult for others to hear her, especially when she is around new people. Despite being a pyromancer, she is extremely hesitant and even somewhat afraid of her own magic. Between lasting trauma and a fear of repeating the destruction she has caused in the past. Which can be problematic, since it is a power that is directly linked with her itself. Often responding to her emotions and sometimes even flaring up despite her control. Though it has various stimuli that can cause such.
One of these would be when Reese gets angry or upset. Which is not uncommon. One may even say she gets a bit feisty. That Zorren pride makes an appearance from time to time. This doubles when she manages to get close to someone. Since she has spent so much of her life distrusting others, for good reason, those who eventually do get her trust and love may find that she is completely different. Though that timid nature remains, she will brighten up around those special few and remain loyal to them until the day she is no more. Doing whatever she can to protect them, driven by her strong sense of loyalty, but also due to the fact that she doesn't want to be alone again. She often refers to some of these feelings within her as a Zorren curse, since they are usually a race centered around fighting for others and their causes. It is also of note that despite her upbringing and general sense of mistrust, Reese still holds a fairly strong moral code to her. She knows cruelty far too well to not want to avoid being the same as those who once harmed her.
Lastly is kindness, which is of note. Reese has known very little of such within her life. Being such, she sees genuine kindness like a treasure. It is rare, bright and very few tend to have it. This is something that really speaks to the young woman, often making her eyes glow brightly and even making her feel warm. It is such a potent stimuli for her, that it actually can even yield a reaction from her pyromancy, which is where the warmth comes from. Though her powers react to her emotions in many ways, these emotions tend to make her less afraid, since the fires that are produced from such won't burn others, or objects.

Biography & Lore
Reese was born into a small nomadic tribe of Zorren spellcasters. The small sect of fox-elves spent most of their time traveling throughout the woods, making sure that a sense of balance was kept. Reese, being of the new generation of Zorren's was expected to do the same. Using the potent magic of her family and kin to keep the forests healthy and safe. As Reese grew up, it became clear that she had no real talent for magic. In fact, it seemed she may not be able to cast at all. Figured it was just too soon, being her age. Zorren did tend to live for long periods of time and in comparison to how long her life span would be, Reese was still basically still an infant.
By the time she was ten, the young fox was finally starting to get the hang of magic. Though not the most promising spellcaster, it was still better than her earlier attempts. Light magic being the only real thing she could manifest though. At least until one day her emotions got the better of her. During a training exercise, the little fox got extremely upset. Feeling like a failure to her family and her kind, due to her lack of magical capability. What should be found out, was she did have talent, just in a different, more destructive form of magic. Fire. Her emotions caused an outburst of fire to erupt from the small fox girl. A power that was fitting to the race, but not so much to the tribe. Nonetheless, they attempted to at least help her gain control of her flames, so she wouldn't burn the forest to ash.
The more they tried to train her how to control her flames though, the more difficult it became. On more than one occasion the young fox had managed to cause some damage. Many within their small tribe started to wonder if she would be more harmful to the forest than good. As a result, they took measures to train her magic outside of the forest. Often taking long trips for extended periods, in order to train her. Without the safety of the forest and a young, unstable pyromancer it did not take long for them to be noticed by wandering eyes. On one of the trips some bandits spied the wee fox and decided she might make a good prize to some wealthy noble. So during the dead of night they attacked the small camp they had set up, killing Reese's parents and taking her. Little did they know just how much of a problem their new payday would cause them. Once at the camp, after transferring the subdued fox into a cage, the bandits thought they could relax some. They had killed two Zorren shamans. Took their ears and tails as prizes and even captured a young one. Things seemed to be going well, until one of the drunk fools taunted Reese in her cage. Waving the severed tail of her mother at her, boasting. A mistake in the making, as it sent sorrow and grief through the young one, along with anger, regret and a seething rage. Fire erupted from the young fox, far worse than any time prior. This time is was fueled by violence and hate. Hate towards these bandits who caged her and killed her family. The man right outside of the cage had a short life. He did not suffer much as the tail of Reese's mother turned to cinder and ash. His body is not doing much better. Others panicked while the camp went up in flames like a wildfire taking dry, dead flora. It burned all throughout the night and into the morning. Despite their efforts, the flames took all of them, leaving many of the band dead and Reese missing, her cage a melted warp of metal. Though it would have not been hard to track her with the trail of fire that followed her. That didn't mean they wanted to though.
Hours passed and Reese found herself exhausted and hungry, passed out along a path. she would certainly have died there, if luck did not shine on her. A traveling merchant finds the little fox. In an act of kindness, the man helped her. Brought her home to his village. Fed her and nursed her burns. He assumed she had been a victim of some sort of tragedy. What he didn't expect was that the same would fall upon him. Kindness did not solve the young fox's grief and mistrust after all. The wound of her heart was still too new. With her body rested and fed just meant that the fire within had kindled to come forth. The fires destroyed a fair amount. More than enough for her to be chased from the village. At least this time not as many died. This sort of thing would happen over the next few years as well. Any time something, or someone tried to get close to the fox they would be met with flames and mistrust. Soon enough it was common to tale of the land to not go near where she dwelled. An abandoned cave that she had found and made into a home. she would still be met with resistance from time to time. Fear had an effect on people after all. The last act was some of the nearby villages hiring some mercenaries to deal with her. By this point they branded her a monster and ironically so, as she viewed them the same. Most mercenary bands also found it difficult to even attempt at the Zorren girl though. Years of thrown rocks, aggression and foolish attempts. She would have just left them alone, if they left her alone. However it is commonplace to poke at the bear, rather than let it rest.
It wasn't until they brought in another sorcerer that they would find success in driving out the fire beast of the cave. However she by this point was a local legend and a very real one at that. So caged and sold it was. This time though with dampening shackles to keep her fire from getting out of control. Draining her magic and putting her through agonizing pain in the process. She was bought and sold several times. Some owners wanted to see her fire, with regret. Others just like the idea of having a Zorren fox around as eye candy. Some owners are abusive, cruel and one even being a sadistic sorcerer who turned her own flames upon her once. Scorching her tongue and throat to a point where she almost couldn't speak. Before healing her and then repeating the process. Finally she was sold one last time, to a wealthy man overseas. By this point the young Zorren was a defeated young woman. Years of her life taken from her through the cruelty of those around her. However the ship that would be her final voyage of slavery, would be the start of a new chapter for her. A chapter that started when the Hellscythe flag ship came across the rich vessel. They pillaged everything of value on the ship, including her. Turns out that the captain was far kinder than anyone else Reese had met over the last decade of her life and kindness was a treasure in itself.
