Adalric Merlon is a weathered, somewhat unkempt man of middle age. Put him in the cloak and light armor of an Ashdeller woodsman and he'd pass for one with ease.

As an upper-class son of Ashdell, Adalric was raised with the sword, the bow, and the pen. He's a capable freshwater sailor and woodsman. He has no magical talents and only minimal and theoretical College Magic - enough to understand what others do, but not enough to replicate it. He usually has court magicians for that sort of thing.

Adalric is a determined, stubborn leader with an indefatigable work ethic. He feels his peoples' more acute struggles keenly. His top priority is Ashdell's security, located as it is between a nearby Portal Stone and a major waterway, in reasonable striking range of Molthal. To that pragmatic end he willingly pays tribute to nearby Belgrath, as his ancestors have done for hundreds of years.
