Appearance

Often appearing as a tall cloaked man, Juancho either conceals himself through disguises, be they practical or illusionary, with plenty of different garbs and clothes to suit his desired look.

Skills and Abilities

As stated before Juancho along with his family were gifted in magic, specifically in sorcery dealing with illusions and deception. Being able to conjure images, and noises with ease of various sizes and shapes. Tricking the other senses such as touch and taste may be done to much would likely take extra effort. Also a more passive ability comes in the form of much longer lifespans. Juancho himself is many decades older than he appears.

Though not much of a direct fighter himself, he can fight rather "dirty" with the tricks he can pull to deceive an opponent. he's more a people person. And is rather good at conning and scamming others of their money.

Equipment

  • An enchanted "Bag of holding" which can seemingly carry an entire caravan, or merchant's guild worth of inventory inside of it with ease.
  • Another Special item of Juancho's which is carried under his cloak is a jagged and weathered wand which he uses as his arcane focus of choice.
  • Juancho has an old Hurdy-Gurdy as his instrument of choice.

Personality

Juancho is a trickster through and through. Often manifesting as a pathological liar. Some have even said the real Juancho died many years ago. Crushed under the seemingly endless stream of false names, lies, and schemes. Perhaps his real name isn't even Juancho, and his entire background was fabricated by himself. A tall tale to inspire others with laughter, dread, and even anger. An agent of Chaos with no clear distinction between genuinely and dishonesty.

However, deep down there Juancho is still a man, with feelings and goals of his own. He wants to live a normal and peaceful life. But something inside him prevents such development. Almost cursed to always play the fool be it comedically or tragically.

Biography & Lore

Despite the rather regal sounding name Juancho doesn't come from any noble background. But instead a dynasty of court Jesters from Cortos. Each first more male of the Ricco family was brought up to take and later pass on the torch of comedy and entertainment for nobility. Because of this the Ricco family has been touched by magic some even expect it have have fey origins. Family members having a rather strong affinity for illusion magic and trickery, as well as longer lives. Which often came in great aid for their entertaining performances. As well as be well past 100 years old and still look as a young adult. The reality for this magic being passed down from generation to generation originates as an ancient warlock pact with a greater fae. Started by a distant ancestor of Jauncho's who made a pact with a leprechaun.

However, Juancho Ricco, third of his named gained the title from his homeland The Fool of the Fools. Several generations ago when Juancho was a younger man in a noble party shattered expectations and crossed the line as a fool and ended his family's ancestral dynasty of Jesters. Details from this occurrence are sparse, even to this day. What he did on that fateful and festive evening had turned him not only into an outcast, but an outlaw overnight. From his homeland there are a few local tales. Fictions hyping him up as almost a folk hero trickster. Who out witted a corrupt noble court of much of their gold to then share with the commoners. Unfortunately his true fate was much less glamorous. However, he is not alone, and shares his travels with a fae companion, a mischievous little pixie named Sophie.

These days Juancho conceals himself in numerous fake identities, traveling from one settlement to the next to pull cons and tricks on folks large and small. Making many acquaintances and even more enemies...
