Ilharess
A winged cat, a luminancer's newly met familiar, and, on those fleeting instances when the occasion just happens to suit her, a loyal-ish agent of the Dawn Court.
Appearance
Ilharess (the name her current oath-pledge insists on calling her, obviously woefully incapable of pronouncing the proud moments-long string of chirps and whistles which comprise her true name and courtly titles) resembles a quite well-fed long-haired gray tabbycat, with tufted ears and falcon wings. She has gold eyes and prefers a high perch wherever she goes.
Skills and Abilities
Ilharess can fly at about the same speed as an owl, and just as silently. She is a master hunter and quite practiced at being inconspicuous. She just looks like she belongs in whatever place she is in. She has a keen and quite discerning sense of smell. Lastly, she can understand all tongues spoken in the realm of the Dawn Court, and can communicate telepathically with her oath-pledge.
Personality
As a fey creature of the Dawn Court, Ilharess has mischief in her blood, and when bored or ignored too long, she relishes in creating chaotic scenes for her own amusement. She is neither cruel nor malicious, though; and she will not abide cruelty or malice in her oath-pledge. She does not meow, but rather murrs, chirps, and whistles, like a Maine Coon hunting a starling breakfast. When she murrs at Vel'duith or one of her associates, she gives an expectant stare, awaiting their response.
Biography & Lore
On a recent new moon, the avatar of Seelah appeared before the Dawn Court, requesting an agent to aid a new worshipper from an unlikely origin: the Undercity. Having just suffered a terrible prank which had led to an hour of raucous merriment at his own expense, the beet-cheeked King Andronicus smiled broadly. He snapped his fingers, placing a geas on a particularly pleased-with-herself-looking winged cat.
"My dear, dear, tabbycat, who just demonstrated so entertainingly to this court thy formidable wit! Seek out this dark elf stumbling her way out of the Underrealm, guide her safely above, and hold her to her oath to our friend the Moon, for as long as she might keep it. Why, the uproar should prove most deliciously amusing, dost thou not agree?"
The cat now looked much less pleased with herself; a faerie king's geas could only be escaped by discharging the task beseeched. With a haughty murr, she alit into the sliver-mooned gloom, circling up into the stronger breezes and eddies, then soaring off into the southeast sky.
