Appearance

Heskan Noscales is a moderately tall human with dark brown hair with some gray peppered in and light brown skin. He keeps his head shaved with a somewhat manicured goatee. From his neck down to his ankles his body is covered in dragon-like scale tattoos. He is very muscular and in tremendous shape, the result of a lifetime of training. He is usually seen wearing light cloth clothing that is easy to move in, and a pair of leather bracers covering his hands and forearms.

Skills and Abilities

White lion claw
This style of martial arts was developed from watching the Baaran lions hunt their prey. The white lion claw style of martial arts relies heavily on the practitioner's strength and agility. When fighting the practitioner tends to charge the opponent, and attack directly with brute force, using circular arm movements, quick rapid-fire punches, low sweeping attacks all to try and knock the opponent prone for a brutal finisher. This leaves very little room for error when fighting, so the users has to be aware of how their opponent will react to being attacked so no movements go unwasted. If a mistake is made, or an attack his dodge the user will be left wide open for a counter.

Ki Manipulation
Ki much like magic is not something you can bottle or measure. Through years of training his body and mind, Heskan is able to manipulate the mystical energy of ki. Ki is very much like magic and some scholars believe it to be one and the same. This power is not infinite and can run dry if overused. If one's ki is depleted they will be exhausted, tired and very hungry. Usually after a day of resting their ki will return.

Step of the wind
By channeling his ki into his lower body, Heskan is able to leap large distances in a single bound, run up some vertical services, and slow his fall if needed. For each minute this is activated Heskan drains his Ki.

The open hand
Heskan can channel his ki into his palm and let out a shockwave that can knock his opponents back a few feet (depending on their weight) or even prone. The force of this feels like a normal punch wherever it hits, even if the target is wearing armor.

Hands of stone
By channeling his ki into his hands and keeping it there giving them magic like properties, making them hard as stone. Giving him strong stopping power whenever he lands a punch. He can grab on to and deflect sharp objects when this is activated without much harm to his hands depending on the attack.

Healing
The Technique Heskan is most proud of. Something he didn't learn from his masters, but something he taught himself. By channeling his ki into someone else body he could cure them of their wounds and even expel poison. But anything more serious than a deep cut will drain him of his ki immensely.

Personality

"The Lion strengthens their bones"
This simple phrase was shouted at Heskan ever since he could remember, and even though he does not associate himself with the Monastery of the silver wind, their brutal methods of training still hold strong roots in his personality. Heskan was taught that only the strong survive, but he goes out of his way to help, and provide for the weak. To him, the strong protect the weak until they themselves become strong. Heskan has spent his whole life in the monastery fighting and training his body into an instrument to enact swift and powerful justice upon evil whenever he sees it. Those who seek to take advantage of those less fortunate than them, they get a swift kick to the groin. Those whom ambitious that would lead to the ruin of those less fortunate unable to raise their voice in protest get a throat punch. This philosophy has given Heskan a belief that things are in black and white. Either you are good or you are evil, but since leaving the monastery Heskan has since broadened his world view to shades of gray, but old habits are hard to break.

He loves talking to new people he meets on his adventures, constantly asking questions to new travelers he meets along the way. He often gets overzealous when meeting someone often demanding that they travel together and insisting that he protects them free of charge. And if his new friend ever becomes sad and or melancholy Heskan suddenly turns into a clown trying desperately to cheer them up through a funny story he heard or dazzling them with his martial art techniques.

And under all his cheery disposition and righteous anger toward the unjust, Heskan is a deeply sad and troubled man. He feels immense guilt over his past actions and feels obligated to do good whenever he can to make up for his past sins.

Biography & Lore

The Monastery of the Silver Wind was formed by a group of wondering Komodi who discovered the secrets of Ki manipulation through ancient scrolls from a faraway land. The elder of the group had a vision from their great dragon god Roigio. Who told them to head to the spines and build his temple. For they were chosen to smite evil in his name. Roigio informed them that they were unable to use this power, but they were able to understand and teach it. They wandered up toward Belgrath and went west finding their own way. There in the Taagi Baara steppes, they founded the monastery. A place where only the strong survive and the only strength that mattered was your own. They watched the Baaran lion and mimicked its movements developing their own fighting style. For years they lived in the barren wastes, training, and worshiping Roigio training worthy disciples to become the "Ioth Ir" The holy fists of Roigio.

Years past, many warriors came and perished under the hard training of the Silver wind Komodi. Until three orphaned human youths entered the temple asking for refuge, two boys and one girl. Their parents where a group of nomads traveling the country. During one night they were set upon by bandits. The children were only able to escape by the sacrifice of the adults. The old Komodi were not empathic to their plight and the children were given shelter under three conditions.

One, they give themselves heart and soul to Roigio.
Two, they forsake their names and history.
Three, they were there to train, and fight.

So Ghesh, Nala, and Heskan abandoned their old names, forgot their old gods, and made their bodies into weapons. The old Komodi gave them the surname of Noscales. For years the children trained, the old Komodi monks pitted the children against each other until a superior fighter emerged. But it wasn't all fighting at the temple, The children learned to read and write. They learned philosophy and history. Though even more children came to the temple none showed the same prowess as Ghes, Nala, and Heskan.

"The lion strengthens their bones!" They would yell at the loser often subjected to even more intense training. They molded the children in their own image, tattooing them with dragon-like scales and fostering a brutal nature in them toward anything they deemed evil. It became clear early on that Ghesh was the superior fighter, quickly mastering the white lion claw fighting style able to defeat the Komodi that taught him in single combat. Nala was able to master her Ki and transcend her own limitations, she claimed that she was able to shed her mortal skin and commune with Roigio on a different plane of existence. Heskan was able to be well rounded enough in both his hand to hand fighting ability and his ki manipulation that he was not left behind his brother and sister. Soon the three gained the title of Ioth Ir, and now their mission was to begin. They traveled the land, assassinating those that the elders deemed evil, and burning bandit camps to the ground. This troubled Heskan, was this truly justice? Did all these people truly need to die to satisfy some god?

Though he forgot his name, and where he came from he could not forget his mothers face. He would often receive visions of his mother during meditation. Them playing on a faraway beach, he could still feel the sand between his toes and the smell the saltwater air. Was this what his mother sacrificed her life for? So one-night Heskan packed only what he needed and left the temple under the cover of darkness. He knew he could never return, for what he was doing was heresy and the punishment was death.

The young man used the skills he learned, by becoming a bodyguard to anyone who needed it often refusing payment for his services. He traveled city to city rarely staying in one place for long. He told himself that righting wrongs was an ongoing quest and that there was always work to be done but deep down he was scared. Scared that word of a man covered in dragon scale tattoos would get back to his temple and the judgment of Roigo would be upon him.
