Appearance
Emery is a short and muscular young and adult. His hair was a reddish blond and was wildly unkempt. He was often visibly dirty and wore what looked like a ripped to shreds rangers outfit giving him the look of a failed pirate. His eyes were this mysterious violet giving him a "more than meets the eye" kind of stare. While short his face offers an intimidating factor, but it's indefinite as to exactly why.
Skills and Abilities
Feline Agility:
Emery is not among the worlds stronges. He is possibly among the worlds fastest. His time spent leaping window sill to rooftop has gifted him with almost inhuman speed. He could out race horses and carriages with hardly an effort. This, unbeknownst to him is partly due to the fact that he has been possessed by Xiahael, The Unforgivable. The possession has given him an uptick in all of his abilities without his knowledge. Along with his sound trumping speed, he is an incredible acrobatic. Able to climb and flip around just about anywhere without the fear of falling or losing balance. This is all he has even in combat to his knowledge as his striking strength is that of any normal human.
A Liar's Trade:
Emery having spent living his whole life as a thief is very well versed in the field. He can swipe items from peoples pockets completely undetected and vanish into shadow with ease. His stealth and deft hands are his only ample way of gaining a one up on an opponent if there is nowhere for him to flee to. He does carry a dagger on him but to reiterate his strength would be that of any normal bandit.
A Vessel Must Remain:
Xiahael, The Unforgivable is a demon from the depths of Oblivion that has taken hospice in the body of Emery Thatcher. Emery's death would also terminate the demon from the mortal world and since it is busy studying mortals it cannot have this. When Emery is knocked out or brought to a near death state, Xiahael has enough strength to then take over his consciousness. When he does this his main focus is escape to ensure his vessel does not perish. His skill set however changes to that of Xiahael's (A Message From Oblivion) for the short time that he has power over the thief.

Personality
Emery is not someone many people can stand. He is a vulgar, affronting and mischievous young man. His favorite things in this life are drink, taking other's hard earned money, and loose women. He has no concern for other people's lives or feelings and treats everyone beneath him. He is wildly arrogant and equally as insecure. He'll start fights for no reason or pick the pockets of those who piss him off. There's likely to be an altercation with him involved.
Biography & Lore
Thaddeus and Marla Thatcher were match made in Hell. A mutually abusive couple that had no earthly reason for being with one another. There was no love in their marriage and it felt more obligatory once the conception of young Emery. His presence made no difference in their toxicity when he finally arrived. The sad little family lived in a slum of Alliria that was compact and depressing. Both Thaddeus and Marla were horrible alcoholics that paid little to no attention to Emery in his formative years. The most interaction he would receive would be scoldings and even some atrocious physical abuse on worse evenings.
Due to these conditions Emery spent a great deal of time in the streets with other wayward kids. By thirteen he was picking pockets and hanging in the windows of neighborhood girls rather than being home basically every night. His family had practically stopped taking care of him and especially feeding him. He made due by hunting in the outskirts of the city or robbing markets with his ever growing swiftness. Emery was forced to survive, and he did so well.
At the end of that year, something peculiar and horrifying took place.
When Emery was home for once in a blue moon. The time was around 3am. The streets were silent. As most nights, a brutal argument took place between Emery and his father. His mother stayed quiet and drunk in the corner taking no sides. As the altercation almost became violent a loud thud came to the door. Thaddeus removed himself from striking Emery to open the door. He was met with an arrow in his head. Emery watched his father hit the floor dead and felt relief. His mother sprung up and screamed in terror when she saw who stood at their door.
Five men in purple robes that bore matching demonic symbols looked through shadowed hoods into the poor family's house. A barrage of arrows in the mouth and throat silenced Emery's mother and he remained frozen, unsure of how to react to this shock his brain was dealt. The men grabbed Emery and despite his kicking and fighting they bound him to a chair with rope. One man revealed a grimoire of some sort and began chanting. Another pulled out a sacrificial dagger and a cloth.
The man started to carve into Emery's chest and covered his screams with the cloth. Eventually the man with the tome finished his chant and Emery's new found scarring began to burn, heavily. He faded into unconsciousness.
When Emery awoke, he was freed and in the streets he'd known so well. He could hear the bustle of guards hunting after his name for the "murder of his family." Though he knew himself innocent he couldn't trust the authorities. He fled. Not far, but he fled. He wasn't well known. It would be easy for him to hide.
As he traveled to Vel Anir, he stopped by a pond to clean himself a bit. He peered into the water and noticed his eyes had changed from brown to violet.
He now lives as a thief in Vel Anir. Completely oblivious to the changes that have occured to him...
