A student with potential, an artist with promise.

Behind the Artist

Atticus was brought up with colour and shapes, living within the Outer Wall and Second Wall of Dornoch placed him in the busy markets and display of every individual that resided there. A talent himself, he worked hard cleaning his mentor's stall until he earned enough coin to pay for his very first paints. When his mentor recognised Atticus' eye for art, he began to instruct him with more vigour to improve his skills.

During his adolescence, his mother became ill and decided to tell more stories about the Elbionese man that is Atticus' father. She spoke of how he had always wanted to see his son, but she forbade him as she was too distraught that their marriage had come to an end. With only vague memories of him, Atticus began to reach out to his father with his mother's blessing, and soon built a new relationship with his father. It appeared that his paintings gathered a lot of interest in his city, for Atticus's father invited him to visit to explore the city and what it offered. To learn about a city Atticus himself came from though blood.

It wasn't until his mother passed from her illness that a now lost and faded boy collected his belongings and bought passage on a ship to Elbion.

Behind the Student

Atticus arrived in Elbion at the age of sixteen and spent a year without truly exploring the city. He had become encased within his own walls, the spark of life lost within him. He did not wish to pick up a brush or touch any pots of paint, but he was most grateful to his father and his new family. Welcoming a stepmother that understood his pain, he found himself talking to her of the grandeur of Dornoch, the beauty and the history of it that his mother taught him. It was through her that he became to miss his mother, and therefore paint memories he cherished most about her.

A room had been cleared to become his own studio, not a small section of his mentor's market stall, here he could dream big with his canvasses.

It took two years of holding his grief like an old friend that Atticus's talents truly transcended. His emotions and thoughts poured into the artwork he created, never realising that it was in fact magic at play. His father and step mother would feel what he felt recalling the memories he painted, as if they were the ones that experienced it firsthand.

Another two years passed, a younger sister born, Atticus began to reason with the suggestions of attending the College. With the promise that he would be granted permission to visit home when he liked to watch his sister grow and return to his studio, Atticus began to see the beauty of life again.

Having just turned twenty years of age, Atticus was now enrolled as a student of Elbion College with the hopes of learning and understanding the gift he was given.
