Appearance and Equipment

* Medium-length asymmetric (longer on her left side, shorter on her right) red hair, light blue right eye, left side of her face his scarred from an incident, fair skin, 4'4", lean build for a dwarf, only moderately stocky. Has a tattoo on her right cheek denoting her affiliation with and station within Clan Ironhammer.

* Usually wears light armors typical of most ranger-types, of green and brown earthen tones; white shirt; long green cloak.

* Usually armed with a dwarven repeating crossbow and a hatchet.

Skills and Abilities

Praetor Anti-Magic: Gifted with anti-magic, Anfisa is capable of locking down a foe's ability to cast magic by staring at them. Powerful in preventing a single spellcaster from using their magic, this trait of course relies on unbroken line of sight, and isn't well suited against groups nor magic already manifested, like a fireball in flight.

Praetor Training: Praetors of Gild are warrior statesmen (and in Anfisa's case, stateswomen), and as such they receive ample martial training. Being a longer-lived dwarf, Anfisa has and will enjoy more time in her youth to hone her skill as opposed to her human counterparts. Already she is a crackshot with a crossbow, and prefers range over melee (her skill in which could still could use some work).

Personality and Characteristics

Major

* Careful and thoughtful. Advises caution. Far more comfortable with a prepared plan rather than "winging it" in any given situation. Stalwart if prepared, typically flummoxed if caught off-guard.

* Reserved. Has trouble with assertiveness even if she knows she's right.

* Cordial, perhaps overly so, since she is this way even with familiar friends.

* Quite literal. Focuses on concrete details, practical applications, how things really are instead of what they "could" be. Not so good with poetic/figurative ways of expression.

* Law-abiding.

Minor

+ Likes to hoard little trinkets and mementos that remind her of favored people and events.

+ Insecure about her facial scarring.

+ Has a growing passion for woodworking and carpentry. Aspires to build her own log cabin one day.

+ Enjoys spending time in the wilderness, and developing survival and ranger skills.

+ A morning person, loves a good sunrise.

Biography and Lore

Anfisa Ironhammer is the youngest child and only daughter of Gogrun and Hildegard Ironhammer, having three older brothers.

The schism in Clan Ironhammer—that is, the separation between those who trust in magic and those who do not—happened before Anfisa's birth. Gogrun and Hildegard, along with other likeminded relatives, all moved to Gild from Belgrath, and it was there that Anfisa was conceived. And as it so happened, she was discovered to have the gifts of a Praetor. Her uncle Ordin, a stout convert to the religion of Jura, professes that this is a blessing from Regel, and shows favor to the actions of the Gildan division of Clan Ironhammer.

Her time in the War College went well, and she made a number of friends (and good social connections for Clan Ironhammer), one of whom was none other than Ruslan Gildal. However, while her first mission as a Praetor went well, her second did not. She overestimated her ability, and the magic of a mad mage from Althhaven ended up scarring her face and permanently blinding her left eye; the cures of the finest Gildan alchemists could not reverse the damage.

This has reinforced her more cautious approach to life. She still believes in herself and her ability to serve Gild, yet harbors secret doubts. As strife looms, she'll have to find again that well-spring of Ironhammer surety and courage to overcome her greatest adversities yet.
