Like a shadow abandoned by its body, Aethiriin (Ay-theer-een), or Thiri (pronounced thee-ree or like "theory") for short, presently spends a listless life divided between homes and "family" within the courts. The daughter of Baenon and Aster, she was left an orphan at the infantile age of just five years old. Prone to errant mood swings, long bouts of silence, wandering aimlessly, and people-watching, Thiri does not dispense with much of her vastly complicated internal thoughts.

As what appears to be a teenager verging into young adulthood, Thiri is slight of build with a leanness to her reminiscent of both her parents. The severity of their appearances were not spared from her either: she is a being of stark contrasting darks and lights. Her fair skin sits against hair as dark as pitch, and her eyes are an ever-shifting myriad of colors that follow the tides of her emotions.

Much like the dour and morbid nature of Baenon and Aster, Aethiriin can be found in a wardrobe consisting almost entirely of black. While other colors do find their way in from time to time, they are dark in nature such as to also be considered black unless viewed under good light. For the most part, she has a healthy (if someone frail) look about her - though she is not lacking in care from her godparents or guardians.

Omens.

This particular affinity has made Aethiriin a danger to others while she learns to control it. Her very presence alone instigates the chaotic powers of fate and bedlam, wreaking havoc and calamity as often as it brings good fortune. There is speculation among her direct guardians that it was these powers that caused her mother to take her own life. Depending on her emotional state, she can promote/incite omens upon the people and area around her, both ill and benign.

Through physical touch she's able to see potential events, and later on when she's able to better control this ability she'll be able to pick and choose a specific omen and mark a target for it with either a white or black handprint that does not fade until the omen has passed. She is a boon to those she loves, cherishes, and generally feels positively toward because she brings them good fortunes and luck with her presence, and a curse on those who she hates or thinks poorly of as she brings them great misfortune, bad luck, and calamity.

Born in the depths of the night beneath the moons, Thiri's power waxes during the darkest hours and wanes during the brightest.

Darkness. Rather, Thiri's affinity is to light though she prefers to use it inversely for the lack-thereof. She is at home in the fathoms of shadow and dark in her world and prefers it that way. She also holds an affinity with water.

An unusual form for a duannan and one witnessed by only a very select few, Thiri's animal, or beast as she refers to it, shape is that of a wendigo. This form is quite ghastly and monstrous to behold, taking the shape of a creature bearing an animal skull, large black body with dark fur, large foreclaws, and cloven hooves on the back legs. Depending on the time of year, it may sport a rack of antlers as well. In this shape she has no true eyes, but instead a heathenous glow that shines through from the orbital holes of the skull.

Often she shifts into this form when she becomes lost to her depression or an intense emotional breakdown. Thiri can not usually remember what happens while in this form, though she often discovers she has made new "friends" with dark and wyld creatures while out and about.
