After failing in Loot Runners #3, Rizzo needs to try again to get promoted from Copper-class to Iron-class in the Adventurers Guild. Thinking something light-hearted and easy; it is a lowest rank to second-lowest rank promotion, after all. Something like clearing out an infestation of giant rats, say, or escorting a low-risk VIP from here to there.

Fun and fast thread is what I'm feeling. (If I can rein in my word count, lol).

Maybe your character is also looking to get promoted. Maybe your character is a mentor figure of sorts. Maybe your character is actively trying to foil Rizzo (or maybe said foiling is hilariously inadvertent). Maybe you just want to test drive a new character or dust off an old one and you need a thread to do it.


Just tossing out my nascent idea for this potential thread, since I want to write more Rizzo. I lurk on Discord, but I am summonable with @VigiloConfido#9275. Or reply here.

I've got a freelance adventurer that's looking for friends!
He goes freelance but he has no problem working with or doing jobs for the guild, they can definitely go on an adventure together, have fun, and learn about each other!

Currently I'm still thinking rats, because something about that is hilarious to me (unless it becomes a Vermintide ).

Haven't settled on anything yet, so there's still room to craft the premise and add supporting ideas. I'll keep conjuring up details and working on it. Add input if you've got something or would like to see anything in particular.

Sounds good! I can spitfire some ideas that popped into my head.
Wererats.
Dire rats.
Village infestation.
Tavern infestation.
Mine infestation.
Swarm Weird infestation.
Sewer infestation.
Exploring an old infested ruin.
Goblin infestation.
Rat worshipping goblin infestation.
Kobald infestation.

I like RP that builds character lore and intermittent rounds of combat against seemingly meaningless enemies, but get tougher as the plot thickens.

Dire rats.

Even scarier than giant rats. I love it. An infestation of 'em somewhere...and maybe somebody of some significance behind it all? Or they're "guarding" something? A little twist would be a nice touch, and would be an opportunity to build lore for Kalia or Rizzo or both at the same time.

Dire rats led by a wererat.
Led by a maniac with a magical rod that controls rats.
Infesting an abandoned ruin close to the road causing trouble for travelers.
Infesting a winery by digging tunnels to it originating from a long buried ruin.

With the war going on and the empire expanding actually means good business for adventurers and monster hunters. Since guards are fewer they can't spare the manpower to take care of issues like this, so the village hires adventurers.
