Completed Blackstone Deep

Syvis gave him a kiss on the cheek, her breath tainted with the smell of alcohol before she set out down the stairs calling to the front lady. “All the gowns in my room are to be sold, highest profit you know the deal. Leave the coin in my safe I shall be back to fetch it in a weeks time I expect all the gowns gone and the proper records to go with each sale.”

She walked up the stairs again back to her old room to tear a pair of leather pants and a white blouse off one of her hangers getting changed into travelling clothes. She threw on an embroidered vest for good measure, tossing her old dress out of the window. Her eyes flashed to her pipe and alcohol decanters before she decided to add those to the bag as well.

He came in after her, the kiss on the cheek telling him that she really couldn't hold her liquor. So he came in and held her shoulders gently. "Hey, Syvis, listen. I know that what I said on the carriage wasn't very well thought out, in fact I probably shouldn't have said anything like that at all. But please don't let it effect how you think. I'm sorry for what I said, and I'm especially sorry for how I said it, I should have had more faith in you. So please, calm down and leave the alcohol alone."

"No you're not. That's okay although, what could be expected of the man of a harlot." Truthfully Syvis really couldn't handle her elven liquor, had she gone for the human she'd have likely been fine, it was easy for her to sober up from her elven liquor although, in which she did taking a couple glasses of water. "I am calm." She added finally still a tad snippy.

He sighed, women. He knew the moment she said that that it was peak useless trying to talk to her. He said what he meant and he meant what he said, she aught to know that by now. When he apologized he was being sincere and she shouldn't doubt that in any degree. He decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and say it was the liquor talking, so he'd wait until she was sober to approach her again. She really needed to stay away from alcohol if it only takes one or two drinks to get her drunk.

After the water hit her throat she felt herself calm down and the buzz that surrounded her head was fading. She didn’t want to deal with him although, he had to know that it would hurt her saying that. The worst part was she knew he meant it, he didn’t say things he didn’t mean. It was both a blessing and a horrible curse.

He sighed, "I love you Syvis, and I never intended to question your faith. I'm sorry."

With that he left her alone, as he knew it was best to do. He helped bring down what they were taking and loaded it into the carriage, where he saw that Ellice had cleaned up her little mess from the bumpy ride. Poor thing. He asked, "feeling any better?"

“Love you too.” Her tone was curt my genuine. As he left she plopped down on the floor sitting there for a bit before laying down with a thunk.

Conrad came down to see Ellice cleaning up her mess due to the ride from hell she had just endured. The experience so traumatic she found herself blacking out at various moments just to wake up and it still not being over. He asked her if she was feeling better, “was that crazy bitch trying to fucking kill me?” She cussed aloud in response. It was likely she’d get a slap for saying what she had but even Conrad had to admit that blonde was as unstable as when you added vinegar to baking soda, she came with drama and drunken reactions. Mysteriously enough the Vampire put up with her, Ellice understood the Elven woman was beautiful but Conrad himself was a specimen to behold so it wasn’t as if he had other suitors. “Despite the headache, the stench, the rage, and soon to develop paranoia I am fine, thank you for your assistance.”

He couldn't repress a chuckle. "Mayhaps she was. But she failed. And trust me when I say she's never driving with passengers again."

“Despite the headache, the stench, the rage, and soon to develop paranoia I am fine, thank you for your assistance.”

"Hey, a ward is supposed to be taken care of aren't they?" He a said with a smile. "Do try to be patient with her though, her father isn't exactly stable. And we had a rather eventful evening with him, so please don't hold it against her."

Ellice couldn’t help but cock an eyebrow. “So her having one bad night is enough to constitute treating everyone around her like a load of horse shit? We all have rough things in live but you shove them down and deal with it, like any other normal person. That woman is evil and she is far from special. It is time she acted like the rest of us rather then a giant rich baby.” The young girl was seething but deemed her words to be true.

She punched the carriage below her. “Never once did I ask for this!” She bellowed at him before punching the floor below her continuously. If Conrad were to approach her punch would likely find its way to his cheek.

********

Syvis laid there on the floor a bit longer before getting up to do her hair. She didn’t wish for interaction right this very second. It was even debated in her mind crawling out the window and grabbing Smoke so she might never return. That was reckless, however, Conrad wouldn’t have been the first lover she ran out on when things went rough but Syvis deemed he’d be the first one she felt guilt for and for that she couldn’t do it. It was a nice feeling although the recklessness, but it was a feeling that often left her worse off then before. So there she sat staring at her reflection in her vanity.

Her punch wouldn't really do much. Honestly he just shrugged it off when he approached her. "I never asked to be a vampire, needing to feed off people like they were cattle. The thing is, most often, you don't get what you asked for, so you either try to take what you want, or you make the best of the hand you've been dealt. Look at Syvis for example, sure she's a tad spoiled, but she worked a rather degrading job for every coin, she took what she wanted and made the best of the hand she was dealt. And look at what you're getting out of this, it hasn't kicked off but you'll get yourself an education, a wage, and a roof over your head, then after a few years you're free to go. I know a number of people who would kill their own parents for such an arrangement."

Finally Syvis huffed and murmured to herself. "Time to grow the fuck up." with that she stood up, walked across the inn room and slammed the door behind her as she left. She raced down the staircase to the front office. The front lady gave her the leftover rent in a coin purse and Syvis took it leaving the inn.

********
Ellice grunted in response to him. Maybe she was ungrateful but she didn't care much, truth be told it might be the being shoved in a cage and throwing up meals she couldn't afford to vomit speaking mingled with the lack of a meal and a warm bed. "I'm tired. I'm hungry." Was all she said in response. Despite being a leech Conrad wasn't horrible although her people hated blood suckers, the words of her gramma ringing in her head "never trust tem dere bludsuckers, make ya feel so gud jus ta eat ya tha secon' ya turn ya back." her town was terrorized by his kind, yet the ones that killed her family were far worse them him, they were cold and swooped in at night just to wipe out whole families.

"I'll see about getting you some food." He said simply. "Give me a moment and I'll be back."

He got up and went into the inn and asked the front lady if she could put together a quick meal, and he dropped his coin purse on the counter in front of her.

If he passed Syvis he'd step aside and let her pass before going in.

Syvis caught him at the door. He tried to step aside but she caught him giving him a kiss as he went in. She wanted the fight over, and just them together and well. It was likely she’d be punished tonight although.

The kiss was a little bit of a surprise, but not an unwelcome one. Oh she'd be punished alright, but he'd be gentle about it. It would be for the fun of it, not because she'd been bad.

After the meal was finished he brought it out to Ellice, who by then should be mostly done, if not completely done cleaning up her mess. "Here you go, eat up and rest, you need it."

Ellice had just finished scrubbing the floorboards when Conrad came out with a steaming meal. Her eyes lit up and she grinned happily. “Smells good.” She said hungrily, eyes yet to leave the plate. When her eyes did look up and over Conrad’s shoulder she saw Syvis standing at the steps. Ellice frowned, she was still mad at the blonde and her antics. Stupid elf.

********

Syvis waited on the steps for Conrad to come out again so she might follow behind. She was under the impression the small girl didn’t much like her right now and for that she tried to keep her distance. She remained behind him until clearing her throat gently. “I’ve all my things, we will need to come back in a weeks time for a final collecting of various payments.” Syvis said gently, there was to be no apologies just simply moving on as if nothing had happened. Despite what her sheepish manner may elude to.

"Alright. We'll be back by then." He told her equally gently. She didn't have to apologize, he didn't know whether or not she felt remorse, but the argument had passed, and they were going to move on.

He brought Ellice's empty plate back in and when he came out he closed the carriage door and motioned for Syvis to join him on the driver's bench, he was driving, but it was best to keep those two women apart.

Syvis followed Conrad silently to the carriage before perching on the bench beside him. It was understandable Ellice was angry with her yet if it came to blows it was an undisputed fact that Syvis could and would kill the human girl with her bare hands. Perhaps that is why it was best the girl was contained and Syvis was sat where she was. Safety matters of course. In a normal occasion Syvis would have found herself curled into Conrad, despite the fight being over the air that hung between them still felt strange to her.

Ellice’s sour face was destroyed upon her shovelling the meal in her face. Her eyes glanced up again to see the blonde with her eyebrows cocked as if Ellice were nothing but a savage. Her eyes glowered in Syvis’ direction a silent challenge, to which the elf’s own stone cold eyes matched. If it weren’t for the grief it would cause Conrad or the pain Ellice would feel after Syvis clawed her she would have launched herself upon the arrogant harlot causing a full fledged brawl.

At last bitterly Ellice finished her meal and Conrad took it away, leaving just the two women. Now was Ellice’s chance yet instead she huffed and slammed the door to the carriage hiding herself inside. If that stupid slender sket had her way Ellice would likely be in the cage behind the carriage once again.

Arguments were temporary, and while what he alluded to and how was no light offence, he knew they'd move past it. So for now he'd give her time and space, and keep her away from the human whom they were supposed to be taking care of.

Along the road he wrapped an arm around her for a sideways hug and a kiss to her forehead. "I love you Syvis. I hope you know that, despite my blunders."

Syvis cuddled in at his final olive branch. "I love you too, I'd have to be a fool to know you did not love me Conrad and I apologize for my childish and brash behaviours they were...inappropriate..." She finished accepting his forehead kiss.

Inside the carriage Ellice sat and pouted, it was dark and the floors were damp from her cleaning, although better then the pool of her vomit that once sat. Despite her best efforts she did not rid herself of the stench, and it was unrelenting and unmerciful as it launched attack upon attack on her nostrils. The scent burned away at her as she laid down upon the wooden floors. She could take a nap, after all there was no fear of death or she could lay in the darkness...alone. Decidedly she chose the former as she closed her eyes for a proper rest.

He smiled. "I'm glad we could clear this up. I'll watch my words more carefully from now on."

His sharp nose could smell the scent of puke that likely assaulted Ellice's nostrils. He felt kind of bad so he stopped the carriage for a moment and opened the windows for her so that the carriage might air out a little bit, relieving her poor nose.

Then they continued on. "So, now's probably a bad time to ask this question, but where to?"

"Not all of mine are." He said. "I'd say it's time you got to know my family. My father and my mother. I'm sure they'll love you. Also, they'll know exactly what that collar is, they won't be fooled into thinking it's just for decoration, I'm warning you ahead of time."

Syvis panicked clawing at it aggressively. „Take it off! Take it off!“ she screeched. Unable to unclasp it herself. It was most improper and she‘d make no such ill impression. It was fine when the collar was a cheeky thing only she and Conrad knew about but she refused to be branded a sex kitten in front of his parents.

Her neck grew red were her nails cut her. She trashed about like a wild animal wailing like she was stuck in a trap panic consuming her. She’d seen the bloodiest of battles and stayed calm yet meeting the parents made her squirrelly.

He burst out laughing, the fit of laughter lasting quite a while. "Don't worry about it. They know what it is because they do the exact same thing. My father has what.... fifteen wives. My mother being his first. All of them are collared, it's basically tradition where I grew up. It's a small city state on the west side of the spine, basically everyone knows it and everyone does it. You're probably going to be looked at with some envy by some people."

He stopped her clawing at herself. "Oh look, you hurt yourself."

He had to fight back the urge to sink his teeth into her neck then and there, Ellice was for feeding on, not Syvis. He pulled out a white handkerchief and put it between her collar and her neck. It would help keep the bleeding down until it healed. "Don't panic, you're among people who understand you. You'll be fine."

At the mention of multiple wives Syvis whipped her head around at Conrad. Polyamory was fine for other people but he was to get no such funny ideas, Syvis was far too greedy a lover for that. Her eyes narrowed as she spoke without speaking.

She calmed down as he took care of her. He was a very calming effect on her life.

Her eyes widened as she stared at him. So there were other people like them? Strange. In her society she was taught such a thing to be wrong not something enviable. „Okay..“ she mumbled still weary of the whole situation.
