Appearance

Ruckus is a broad shouldered and barrel chested man with a thick skull and a bear trap grin. With his square jaw, thick beard, unkempt shaggy hair and his nervous, toothy grin, he resembles less of a knight and more of a mercenary. He stands just shy of six feet with corded muscle. His frame is very rectangular and his limbs are a little lanky for his body. His green eyes shine through his mundane brown hair and worn face. He often can be seen in simple a simple steel chain hauberk with steel gauntlets, greaves, and gorget, in battle he'll unhook his greathelm from his belt, and place it upon his head. Over his hauberk he wears a blank and blue torn tabard. At his side is a simple steel longsword, accompanied by a simple parrying dagger at the opposite hip. His heater shield is often slung over his shoulder and guards his back, but sometimes, in battle, it can be seen strapped to his left arm. The oak shield with a reinforced steel rim and steel bands reinforcing the wood, it was certainly a sturdy thing.

Skills and Abilities

Ruckus is a skilled swordsman, having been through plenty of tournaments, melees and battles alike, he has seen his fair share of swordplay, and has learned a lot quite through it, most of the time through the school of hard knocks. Yet, he still has much to learn in the way of the sword.

Ruckus is strong and sturdy. It is hard to knock a man like him down, and harder to keep him down. He is a thick oak of a man. Through extensive learning through the school of hard knocks in the learning of combat, he has become resistant to pain - both mentally and physically, and possesses quite a hardy endurance.

Ruckus is an expert brawler. Having grew up in a rowdy part of Alliria, he has learned the true art of unarmed combat. Combined with his inherent strength, early days as a blacksmith and later days as a warrior, years of experience, and almost daily visits to rowdy taverns. his fists are deadly, cruel things.

Personality

Ruckus isn't the brightest or the most charismatic of people. He's quite an idiot and he is horrible with words, especially with woman. However, to compensate for these flaws, he's a morally good person, always looking out for the common person, he defends the innocent and weak, and slays the evil and what he assumes, the morally wrong. Yet this view of right and wrong can be bias. Ruckus views things very in a black and white point of view. There are good guys, and bad guys, and when morally grey situations comes along he tends to struggle with his decision making, stuttering mentally and opting to turn to his drinks rather than resolve through it. None the less it is coming from a place of wanting to help and protect, rather than to attack and destroy. He doesn't care for his pride or for glory, he cares for helping those who have no voice and can't defend themselves.

Biography & Lore

Ruckus doesn't exactly have a rich and exciting past. Orphaned as a child and never knowing his parents, he was hired into a smithy after a few years begging on the streets for his young strength. His master was a hard, matter-of-fact man and treated Ruckus fairly, but worked him hard in the smithy. Among the other apprentices, he was the most rowdy of them all, always challenging others to fist fights and brawls, and often losing. Through the school of hard knocks and gained strength through every swing of the hammer, he became a strong man. As he got into his early teens he'd spend his time drinking and brawling, but over time he felt a certain emptiness. With every brawl he won, his sense of empathy started to grow, and grow. He became more aware of the situation around him, of the suffering in the world, and how he could prevent it, even if just a little.

One night, he stole arms and armor from his Master's smithy and made his way into the world. Leaving his slum to help anywhere he could, and hopefully make enough money to pay his master for the equipment he stole.
