The Bloodstone
The Bloodstone is an old item, a thing rarely seen but by a few vampires or unfortunate adventurers. It harbors a mute and malevolent intelligence within, and truly craves only one thing.
A highly contested artifact among the vampires who know of its existence, yet It is often regarded as a fanciful legend, a fiction.
Does nothing in the hands of a non-vampire.
Effects
Satiation: When held by a vampire, Its primary function is to provide satiation for their thirst.
Penetration: The Bloodstone's effects penetrate through any magical resistances granted by vampiric strains.
Desire: The Bloodstone wordlessly works Its way into Its wielder's mind, showing them in brief visions and subtle hallucinations what it is that they desire. And It offers purely emotional assurances that It can provide these desires, if only It can gain enough power. This power needing to come from...
Consumption: The Bloodstone may be fed vampiric artifacts (and some say, even body parts from particularly powerful vampires) to bestow boons onto its current wielder, enabling strengths the wielder did not previously have access to. These boons are not bestowed to the next wielder when the Bloodstone changes hands. Perhaps It does this willfully, to encourage more powerful items and trophies be fed to It.
Absorption of Massacre: The Bloodstone drinks in the essence of cruelty in the air and blood seeped into the ground at the site of a massacre. This process takes years--more, depending on the size of the massacre. This is a process that recharges the magic of the Bloodstone, such that it can continue to provide satiation. It is unknown whether It can gather enough magic to manifest the Desire of Its vampire owner.
